This past weekend, we had the pleasure of running the Sunshine Slam 2026 in beautiful Oliver, BC — and what an incredible inaugural event it turned out to be. With temperatures soaring to 32°C, players battled it out on the courts with grit, sportsmanship, and determination.

A huge shout‑out to Oliver & District Recreation, who truly knocked it out of the park as hosts of this first-year tournament, held as part of their annual Sunshine Festival. Caitlyn and her team brought energy, organization, and community spirit to every corner of the venue.

To the spectators who braved the heat, cheered from the sidelines, and brought so much life to the event — thank you. Your presence elevated every match.

And to our volunteers, we couldn’t have done this without you. From setup to teardown, from court support to player check‑in, your dedication kept the tournament running smoothly all weekend long.

Here’s to sunshine, community, and many more years of pickleball in Oliver.

The Activating Youth Pickleball Slamboree brought together students from eight schools for two days of fun, teamwork, and first‑time tournament format play — and Court Crushers was proud to help run the event alongside and the AYPVRPA team.

Huge thanks to and all supporting partners for putting paddles in kids’ hands and creating an unforgettable experience.
