Happy 80th Anniversary to CYO! Congratulations on a wonderful 14th Annual Champions of Faith Dinner!

Catholic Youth Organization/Camp Howard is Oregon and SW Washington’s largest private youth sports program, offering eight sports and summer camp experiences for children of all backgrounds in the beautiful Mt. Hood Wilderness. For 80 years, their programs have built teamwork, character, and confidence in the youth who participate—creating stronger, more connected communities.

Hope + Housing: Building Dreams Gala brought together supporters, neighbors, and changemakers to advance REACH Community Development's mission of providing stable, affordable homes and building resilient communities across the metro region.

During the event, CEO Margaret Salazar shared that residents at one REACH property—Gray’s Landing, home to more than 200 low-income seniors, veterans, and families—are facing great challenges due to the proximity to Portland’s ICE facility. REACH has already incurred more than $150,000 in emergency costs. For 10 years, Wonderfolk has turned the belief that opportunity creates success into life-changing programs—empowering hundreds, if not thousands, of young people to dream bigger than they ever imagined.

One of the most moving moments of the recent fundraising gala truly captured the heart of Wonderfolk’s mission: every $2,500 raised during the special appeal provided a full scholarship for a student to spend two weeks in Costa Rica. As each donation came in, a student joined auctioneer Eva Zore on stage—symbolizing another life-changing opportunity. The stage soon filled, the paddles flew, and the excitement in the room grew into a powerful display of community and generosity.

This year’s theme, Do You Believe in Magic?, set the tone for a night celebrating the transformative work of Fora Health Treatment & Recovery—a community pillar for more than 50 years providing compassionate, expert addiction treatment. Guests heard stories of healing, hope, and renewal, and looked ahead to exciting expansions including Fora Home and a new treatment campus in Clackamas County.

What a fun night! 🌺 Petals in Paradise Fundraising Auction brought together friends, laughter, and lots of memorable moments in support of the Portland Rose Festival Foundation.

Benefit auctioneer Dale Johannes kept the energy high as guests enjoyed live entertainment from ukulele musicians and hula dancers, tested their skills at the wine toss and their luck at the raffle and duck pond game, and even took photos with llamas and alpacas! A special highlight of the evening was a heartfelt tribute to Marilyn Clint for 50 years of dedication to the Rose Festival.
