Hey ladies!!

Long time, no post!! πŸ™ŠπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

(Update - to every person who has sent a PM, commented on this post or just reacted, thank you πŸ™πŸΌ I just want to say how genuinely grateful I am for all the positive feedback and kind, encouraging words. It really means a lot to me and I don’t take any of it for granted. Thank you again for all the supportβ€”it is so appreciated πŸ’›)

I'm going to be honest here & let you all in on a bit of a SECRET, that will now not be so secret......
I was seriously considering CLOSING Love Me Do 😬

At the end of last year I think I just lost my mojo for people & the bridal industry & it got really hard.
I had to sit down & have a good think.
When I first started out I remember my wonderful mentor Sarah (she once owned Forever After Bridal) saying, "What's your WHY?" WHY do you want to do this?........ So here's my WHY.......

As y'all can probably tell, I don't enjoy social media & posting etc. My main priority here at Love Me Do Bridal has always been the people.

All you gorgeous brides that walk through the doors & your lovely entourage. That is where I want to put my love, time & energy.

I love hearing your stories of where you met & how you fell in love with your significant other how he proposed, whether you have children & how excited they are for this special day to happen. I also love the, "This is my best friend, we met at Pony Club cos her horse bit my arm". "This is my Mum, but like an adopted Mum cos my Mum lives in England"

There's also those brides that want to come alone & do it themselves because not everyone wants an opinion on their choice of dress (So yes, it's very normal to come alone for those asking)

I could continue you for hours on all the things I enjoy. Yes I love the gowns & how beautiful they are. But they would be nothing without you ladies. I feel so so fortunate that with each bride that walks through the door I get to experience their joy, excitement, love & happy tears. But there's also fear & anxiety mixed in with this I would say 90% of the time because as most know, we are a store for curvy bodies. I'm the lucky one that gets to say, don't stress gal, there will be plenty here that fits & I get to see the relief & down right joy when gowns fit bodies beautifully.

So here's my WHY!! I've found it again!!!!
Yes, there are crappy stressful times, but that's comes with anything you may do. We have to take the good with the bad.

Continued in comments.......

So if you've read until the end I'll just let you know, I'm not promising to post more, because I really don't enjoy it. Yes I know it generates business. But so does word of mouth after treating all these wonderful brides with love, compassion, respect & fun!!
Thank you to every prior or future bride for allowing me to share this special time with you, I appreciate you all so much.

And because I've remembered you are all my WHY, Love Me Do Bridal is full steam ahead πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Hello lovely ladies,

Here's a video of me hiding in the low-lying safe tree's looking to see what else we've lost.

Unfortunately, we are closing for today as we are now without power & as you can see in this video, we no longer have access to get in or out due to trees being down.

I'm about to go out & chase my garden furniture around the lawn & put it away πŸ˜‚ I have contacted everyone to let you know I will be in touch to rebook very soon.

Please stay safe out there πŸ™

❀️ Ashley Gray πŸ’”

It is with an extremely heavy heart I write this post πŸ’”

Last night, on the 2nd of October 2025, the beautiful Ash gained her angel wings πŸͺ½

I met the bubbly Ash when she came to choose her gorgeous wedding gown to marry the love of her life, Shawn.
She arrived with a large group of the most wonderfully supportive friends. We took our time & Ash & I had many laughs while trying to navigate a wheelchair along with puffy gowns in the change room.
After many choices, she fell for the gorgeous gown you see her in here. Her face just lit up & we all knew!
Once she had said yes, we just sat around chilling while she told me her cancer story.
It was harrowing. This stunning young woman had gone through so much, yet she was so positive. She laughed, she comforted friends when they got teary listening to her, she was so strong. Her all-round attitude was never ever one of why me?! She had the attitude of, well, this is what life has dealt me, my body might be failing me, but by heck, I'll still live life ❀️
From that day on, Ash & I were friends. She would message with questions regarding her big day, random things about life & we'd talk about our day, etc.
On her big day, I had the privilege of getting her into her gown & then watching her wheel down the aisle. I was so proud, as I'm sure many of her friends & family were too.
It was just the most special loving day.

Ash was (I hate writing was, I wish it was is) a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunty & niece & a wonderful friend. She was a lover of life & she lived it to the fullest.

To Ayana, Shawn, Glenda & families, my sincerest thoughts & love are with you at this heartbreaking time.

Ash, I think you stole a little piece of my heart the day we met. Rest in love, my beautiful friend ❀️

I often get asked....... what happens if I accidentally get something on my gown on my big day? How should I try & remove it??!?

Enter the amazing micellar makeup remover!

Not only is this a great makeup remover, but it's also fantastic for removing oppsies from your gown. This is the only micellar water I've managed to find that doesn't leave an oily mark, especially for those stunning satin or mikado gowns.

I use mine with a cotton tip, soak the tip in the liquid, and gently wipe across the area, needing cleaned. Let air dry & done. Super simple!! πŸ‘Œ

Found at most of your local supermarkets

Kings birthday, long weekend!

We hope everyone is keeping warm & dry during this long weekend.
For us here in Gore, King's birthday also means Gold Guitar weekend. This is a 3 day event which is part of the 10 day Tussock country festival. Our wee town has many many visitors from all around Nz and all over the world during this time.
We are treated to a lot of different events, the favorite one being the busking! Most of the schools within the area get involved, and it's lovely to see everyone out and about.

So, keeping on theme, we thought we'd share some country themed wedding inspo with you all!
