My beautiful friend Annabelle got married in March at . She might be one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen, (and she is even more beautiful on the inside- I’m lucky to call her a friend) and lucky to be asked my her and Dean to create their wedding flowers. On the week of the wedding I had checked the forecast and noticed it could get chilly in Southland. I harvested the all the dahlias I could on the Monday and tucked them in the chiller for the week. Luckily I did as on Tuesday morning there was not a single usable dahlia left in my patch, with an unusually early frost. The day before the wedding we did the 8 hour drive to Canterbury with a boot full of flowers, I arranged everything the night before. It might’ve been the hottest day of the summer on their wedding day, and amazingly after all these flowers had been through they were still looking pretty great! Congratulations Belles and Dean, thanks for having me apart of your day 🤍🦋🍑🎀
