🌱 2025/2026 Growing Season 🌻

Phew! 😮‍💨

It has been a total roller coaster 🎢 of a season. Incessant rain and grey skies, cool temps and late blooms - Mother Nature made us work for it this season.

We’ve had plenty of success firsts in amongst the chaos as well - wedding 💒 arrangements, funeral arrangements, Four Square Grab n Go and even charity event blooms!

I cannot THANK YOU all enough for your incredible support and belief in us this season - it really does go without saying - without YOU, we simply cannot exist 🫶💐

And with that horribly wet and grey Easter weekend behind us - I’ve made the call to end our flower season - (kind of).

THE FARMSTAND is now closed for the season for bouquets at the gate.

However, we maybe still be able to assist with Made To Order blooms. We will do our best - but the blooms are now going the signs of autumn shutdown so choice may be limited.

We nipped off to the Methven A&P Show today and couldn’t help but throw ourselves into the ring for a few competitive classes while the other half was busy “working” at their car sales stand.

A successful trip all round with us taking out the Premier Exhibit for our Blyton Softer Gleam Dahlia exhibit and Master Sutton taking out the Children’s Poultry section with his Indian Runner Duck - Hazelnut.

Turns out Guy needs to find a hobby and be quite good at it so he can join Harv and I in the winners circle 😉

Tonight was for creepin’…👀

Creeping around The Farmstand at 9.15pm at night, loading the shelves with blooms for Saturday.

A busy morning dropping off blooms for the Charity Ball and side kicking for the incredible Sarah - because realistically, I know my place when talent like that is working their magic! 🤌🏼

I’ll be back at helping finalise Ball Blooms tomorrow - so tonight was for bundling this arvo’s pick, and risking becoming the Smithfield Creeper to make sure weekend blooms are on! 😅

With the weather starting to cool off - more 😒….the flowers are starting to slow.

Blooms will be available Wednesday through Sunday - but, the rest of the season will be fleeting. So make the most of the fresh blooms while they’re here!

Flower February @ Netherby Four Square has come to a close 😭

Not to worry! You can still get out blooms from our Farmstand located at 111 Smithfield Road, as well as Made to Order through our socials 👌🏼

A massive shout out to Kim and the team at Netherby Four Square for hosting our Grab & Go Flower Stand for the month of February! 🙏🏼

And, a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased flowers, stopped me in store to chat blooms, and all of the new followers who have jumped on board to share our cut flower journey online. 🫶

Our season is still going strong but, the temperature is starting to drop - so do grab a bunch when you can, because the season will come to a close in the blink of an eye. 💐🏃🏻‍♀️

Yesterday, was a very special delivery.

I was asked to create a bright and vibrant funeral spray for a very special gentleman.

It was an absolute honour and a privilege to be asked and entrusted to create this special arrangement.

Another arrangement first for what has become a very special and challenging cut flower season.

When your business model is growing affordable cutflowers to sell by the gate…..Wedding Florist is not something I ever considered putting on my name tag.

But, when you have amazing friends reach out, asking if you’d do the florals for their wedding - it’s really important you say YES!

The ever so wonderful Taare & Mel, tied the knot almost four weeks ago to the day. Battling this summers wild weather, and taking it all in their stride, it was an honour and a privilege to be so wholly trusted by these two, to deliver for them, their wedding blooms.

Natural, bohemian themed whites and greens were the brief. And by golly, was it a blast creating these arrangements for the most wonderfully rainy wedding I’ve had the pleasure to attend.

I can tell you now on the other side, wedding florals is not for the faint of heart, and I can really appreciate just how much growing, planning, time and tears (maybe this is just me 😅) it takes to make blooms for someone’s very special day.

I cannot thank Taare & Mel enough for trusting me, providing me with more confidence than I afforded myself, and for challenging me to step out of my comfort zone in every conceivable way possible.

Boutonnières, pin on corsages, bouquets, accents, arch florals and table arrangements. You name it, T & M had full faith.

Taare & Mel - you both deserve nothing but happiness. What a very special couple and what a privilege to have been asked to be a part of it as a florist and as a guest.
