Movie Review: LOMU
LOMU is a powerful and deeply moving documentary about one of New Zealand’s greatest sporting legends.
The film follows Jonah Lomu from his Tongan upbringing in South Auckland to his remarkable rise as rugby’s first global superstar. It captures the incredible speed and strength that made him almost unstoppable, while also revealing the quiet, humble man behind the famous black jersey.
More than a rugby story, LOMU explores identity, family, faith and the serious kidney illness Jonah battled throughout much of his career. Featuring insights from his family, friends and former teammates, it celebrates his achievements while honestly examining the personal struggles behind them.
