Something that was unknown by many attendees of my smartphone Videography classes over the past few months. Saves cluttering your videos folder as well as any editing time.

Currently on our family holiday in Crete 🇬🇷☀️ and thought I could get Millie to help me demonstrate one of the hidden features on our Smartphones.

At all of my smartphone Videography classes, it was an ""ah ha" moment, by many attendees, when made aware of the pause button on screen while recording videos (iPhone & Android).

So with Millie's assistant, and a racing bike arcade machine, we'll show how using this pause button can result in an edited video..... without needing to do the editing bit 😁

A little late, but thank you to everyone that attended the smartphone Videography class at Latheron, Lybster & Clyth Community Development Company last Thursday evening.
A lot of great questions asked, some which admittedly I didn't know the answers to 😅🙈
Doing these classes over the past number of months, and receiving feedback has helped me map out what I'll focus on in future sessions.

It was a real privilege to be asked up to the college in Thurso this morning to work with a great group of students.

We spent the session getting stuck into the practical side of things, from speaking on camera to framing up shots, and images.
It was brilliant to see everyone getting so involved, and having a great laugh along the way.
I really enjoy helping people develop these skills, and I was impressed with how quickly everyone started experimenting with the camera phone they were practicing with.

Thanks to the college for the invite and to the students for being so welcoming. They’re heading out to start their own projects this afternoon; I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Anyone else get stuck scrolling for ages while sat on the toilet? 🚽......
That's not the reason I've been quiet online recently, it's been because we had a 'small' leak behind our shower 🙈
So for the past week and a half, in between school runs and Nightshifts, I've been ripping out and trying to refit a new bathroom 😬
Which explains why there's a toilet sat in my garden!! 😅

I’m bringing the smartphone videography class to Lybster on Thursday 7th May at 18:00.

This will be held at the Latheron, Lybster & Clyth Community Development Company (Seaview House), and it’s the final introductory-style session I’ll be running for this particular class.

I’ve had some great feedback from everyone who attended in Thurso, Lairg, and Wick, and it’s been really useful for helping me see what people find most valuable.

If you’re looking to get a bit more confident with filming on your phone for your business or a hobby, this is a great place to start. The session is completely free, and all you need to bring is your smartphone.

If you fancy coming along, please just sign up using the Google Form linked in the comments section of this original post, so I can keep an eye on numbers. I’ll send out more details via email once you’ve registered.

Working with Elspeth and Richard at Befriending Caithness, opened my eyes to the amazing work that goes on in our community by them and many other organisations.
With the help of their brilliant volunteers, they are reducing the loneliness suffered by many in Caithness.
