It’s been awhile since a post! 😊
I’ve got some catching up to do! I put aside instagram and went adventuring!
Last September started with a few weeks hiking, biking and camping on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. Gosh I love our coast!
November was a trip to Mexico City and our favourite little beach town in the state of Oaxaca, and Jan/February was an epic adventure driving through a very stormy Portugal and Spain, taking the ferry across the Straight of Gibraltar to Morocco, then eventually flying from there to Liberia where my mind and heart were blown open to Africa.
Yes, it’s been a minute… and now back at home on Salt Spring Island I am so grateful for the slowly unfurling spring, my greenhouse and garden to tend to.
The steady act of once again tending to a garden is the familiar rhythm that grounds me.
I have been moving through waves of anger and grief holding hope and love in one hand with anger and overwhelm in the other. The absolute sh*tshow of the news is so hard to comprehend. This world is so incredibly beautiful and there are so many wonderful people everywhere you go. How do we hold that to be true, while also seeing the destruction of lives and the environment happening in real time in front of our eyes. It seems to make a mockery of all the good work that is being done?!
At the moment I think my own work is to rest and replenish after so much travel. I am quietly watching all of you continuing to plant seeds of hope despite the atrocities that can feel helpless to stop.
My flower business is in a process of change, which I’ll speak to more on later posts, but I’m still here… doing small acts to create a more beautiful world.
Take good care of yourself everyone, and remember that your kindness matters, your care matters, and your small and big actions matter. 🙏🧡
