The softest florals for the sweetest couple last July.
A fragrant mix of sweetpeas, farm grown roses, flowering oregano and possibly my favourite scent, bells of Ireland. And a floral collar for the best pup Molly! This intimate wedding was a dream to be a part of.

Two weeks until my favourite market of the year!
Seedlings are gearing up to go to the annual Spring Plant Sale.
I’ve got some real special varieties this year that I can’t wait to share with you! I’ll also have potted perennials, flowering ranunculus as well as fresh and dried bouquets, because Mother’s Day is the next day and we love moms!

There’s also a ton of other amazing growers with an assortment of veg and plant starts for your garden.

It’s the first annual Small Business Owner Partner Appreciation Day!
This guy has been modelling flowers, fixing trellises, building things both big and small and patiently listening to me talk on about farming since day one. Flowerface truly couldn’t run without him and I love and appreciate everything he does for the business and keeping me sane and fed in the heat of the summer. What a guy! Love you Zach!

~ GIVEAWAY AND ZINNIA APPRECIATION POST ~
I love zinnias so much. They come in so many different colours and sizes, they have a great vase life and they are a true cut-and-come-again flower with a long blooming window.
Last season I was fortunate enough to have space on friend’s farms to grow out some special varieties just for seed. I’d love to share some of this special seed with you for your garden this season. Erin at Floret put so much work into creating some amazing new varieties and I’m so excited to be growing them out again this year. Zinnias can be started indoors now or direct seeded after the last frost.

The annual Great Hydrangea Prune happened this weekend. It was a gorgeous sunny day and my amazing landscaping co-workers came out to help. With so many hands we made quick work of it! We pruned some of them extra hard as they are getting so big, I’m excited to see how the plants react this season.

Some folks have been inquiring about our CSA’s (bouquet subscription program) and Valentines offerings for this season and the truth is, we are doing neither!

There are several markets and workshops planned and will share some more info very soon. The season is just starting and I’m looking forward to connecting with new folks and catching up with familiar faces. The best way keep up to date on where to find Flowerface is by signing up for our newsletter.

In the meantime, I’ll be celebrating Valentines with my love, a rarity in the flower trade! He does so much for Flowerface, from building infrastructure and helping on projects to plant sitting, moving big things and feeding me in the heat of summer, I’m so very grateful for him. He’s pictured at the farm last summer when he popped in after work to help with something or other.

Winter projects ❄️
Every year hundreds of flowers from the fields are carefully dried to preserve colour for the darker months. Some varieties of flowers are grown especially for this purpose. Dried flowers are having a moment right now and I’m so here for it because, look at these colours!

We have a limited number of holiday wreaths in our online shop for pre-order!
There are a few different colour options in designs suitable for both front and apartment doors.
All wreaths are made on sustainable evergreen bases with a unique mix of farm grown flowers, foliage, grasses and berries.
Wreaths will be ready for pick-up or delivery first week of December in Victoria.

And just like that, the farm is flat.
We have a huge amount of perennials here and it’s always a huge task to cut them down for the winter. It definitely felt good to get this fall task checked of the list!
Next up, the dahlias! But for the moment they are still happily blooming away…
