There's only 1 day left to donate your items to ARTSPRING TREASURE FAIR 2026! With over 300 donations so far, this year’s auction boasts everything from sturdy kitchenware to nights under Yukon’s northern lights. Books, bicycles, ballet tickets and beyond—every single item donated to our auction helps ArtSpring keep the stage lights on for world-class talent near and far.

Have an item that can make Treasure Fair 2026 even better? Maybe some furniture that no longer fits your space, outdoor gear sitting unused, or a professional session to offer (massage, landscaping, photography, house cleaning, etc.)? The deadline to donate is 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡 (𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰!), so now’s your chance! As a thank you, on top of a tax receipt, you’ll be invited to the Sneak Peek Gala on July 15th, where donors and pre-registered bidders can peruse the whole collection and lay the first bids with a refreshment in hand.

To donate, head to treasurefair.artspring.ca.

Exciting news: Today we can announce that ArtSpring’s new Executive Director is Rainbow Robert.

Rainbow is joining us from the BC Alliance for Arts and Culture and will be with us at the end of July, in time for the 2026/27 season.

Rainbow, who was selected after a national search process, is highly respected within the BC arts community - and already has ties to Salt Spring.

You can find out more about Rainbow’s appointment at www.artspring.ca

With just over a week left for donations, we are still on the hunt for treasures to auction at ARTSPRING TREASURE FAIR 2026! We have filled our art space and have a healthy collection of donated bicycles and china dinner sets, but we still need items from all other categories–gift certificates, wine baskets, travel packages, furnishings, sporting goods, and more.

In addition to a tax receipt and our eternal gratitude, donors are invited to the exclusive Sneak Peak Gala on Wednesday, July 15th. Attendees have the chance to make the first bids on our auction items or to buy them outright using the "Buy it now!" option, all with a refreshment in hand.

Last year, the stars of the show were a gorgeous handmade sailboat and a 2004 Steinway & Sons piano, both of which helped launch us over and beyond the finish line for our fundraising goal. While we don't yet have a major headline item, there is something at Treasure Fair for everyone, and we gratefully accept donations of treasures big and small!

Have a treasure (or a whole trove) to give to support your local community arts centre? We would love to hear from you! Please visit our donation page and submit an online donor form.

And you can recover from that by sitting back and immersing yourself in the story of Salt Spring’s Black soldiers of World War 1 with the wonderful shayna-adjowa jones.

All whilst appreciating the incredible lobby display of Indigenous artists, thanks to Sweetgrass Arts and Music Society.

“It was magical!”

Connections were made. Young adults were inspired. Wisdom was shared. People left ‘Icons: A Panel Discussion’ with hope and positivity.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Elizabeth May for moderating, and to panelists Sindhu Mahadevan, Brenna Corner and Shazhan Amed – and of course to our incredible curator .

The Icons panel ran concurrently with Homage, a unique, beautiful and powerful exhibition of 40 tailor-made and exquisite necklaces designed and created for 40 of Canada’s most iconic women.

Even if you missed the panel, there’s still time to visit Homage, at the ArtSpring Gallery until May 22 - and to join us for our Amazing Island Women panel discussion on May 21st at 1:00pm.
