This week at ArtSpring...
The rain is here, just in time for this week’s Family Series performance of Water Words, which is all about… water. Specifically, the scarcity and abundance of water, and how it shapes communities and identities. ArtSpring staying ‘current’, right there.
But that’s just one day of yet another something-for-everyone week at ArtSpring:
🎭 The Comic St*****rs, Saturday, Oct 24, 7.30pm
Cheer up a dull day with a night with the Comic St*****rs: Improv parody that proves a hit wherever it goes.
🎸 Lloyd Spiegel performance and workshop, Sunday, Oct 25
There are VERY limited tickets left for Bluesman Lloyd Spiegel’s workshop at 1pm and performance at 7pm - if you don’t want to miss out, act NOW.
🧶 The Spinners and Weavers Guild Fall Show and Sale, Sunday, Oct 25, 10am-4pm
The last day of this season’s show and sale - pick up some really special festive gifts or treat yourself. The gallery looks so cosy and colourful, just enjoying the quality and care that’s on display is an experience in itself.
🐓 SSI Film Festival Presents Derek vs Derek, Wednesday, Oct 28, 7.30pm
This documentary has been getting rave reviews - a tale of what happens when two neighbouring English farmers (both called Derek, naturally) take very different approaches to farming. Exploring what happens when intensive vs rewilding clash is a perfect midweek night out!
🌧 Water Words, Thursday Oct 29, 7pm
The Mouats Family Series launches with this really special performance - a perfect end-of-the-school week night out with family, grandkids or a friend-group. Ideal for ages six+, this 55 minute show combines instrumentals, puppetry, spoken word and object theatre - we’re feeling really fortunate to be able to bring this experience to Salt Spring’s next generation of arts lovers.
🗳 SS Forum Presents Terri Givens: How Worried Should We Be About the US Midterms? Sat, Oct 31, 3pm
Will the 2026 elections be free and fair? How worried should we be? Terri Givens is a best-selling author and Professor of Political Science at University of British Columbia - this promises to be an insightful and very topical discussion.
🇮🇪 Tulua, Sunday, Nov 1, 4.30pm (NEW TIME)
Now at the new time of 4.30pm, tickets for this are selling quickly. (If you have tickets with the old time, don’t worry, they’re still valid!) This young, energetic trad/folk band from Ireland have been getting toes tapping from East to West as they near the end of their Canadian tour, and the reviews have been fantastic. A perfect way to spend a Fall late afternoon/early evening!
