Celebrating Edmonton’s Youth: The Podium Academy’s Year-End Runway Experience Shines a Spotlight on Local Talent!

The Podium Academy invites Edmonton families and media to its most anticipated event of the year—The Runway Experience, taking place on May 25, celebrating the creativity, confidence, and community spirit of local kids aged 4–15.
Unlike traditional fashion shows, this event is designed to empower young models and give them a hands-on opportunity to walk a real runway in front of a live audience. Each participant will showcase two outfits provided by local designers and children's stores, including Oba’s Closet and HSKT Kids—and take both looks home as memorable keepsakes.
This year, the event proudly partners with the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society, reinforcing Podium’s belief that fashion and opportunity should be accessible to all. Two EDSS participants will walk the runway, and part of the event proceeds will support EDSS programs.
“We believe in building more than modeling skills,” says the founder of The Podium Academy. “We focus on developing confidence, body awareness, and community pride. Our runway is a celebration—not a competition.”
The Podium Academy has made a name for itself by offering professional training to young models and fostering collaborations with local businesses through styled photoshoots and brand campaigns. Their monthly Gather & Glow Club invites industry guests—including beauty queens, designers, and role models like Ashley Callingbull—to share their journeys and inspire the next generation.
The Runway Experience will conclude with a Guest Reception hosted in collaboration with Tesoro Italian Market, providing families a chance to mingle, celebrate, and support local businesses in style.
