After we settled in our rooms and met in the lounge, the first thing our friend asked was, "do you want to see if we can extend our stay" and my immediate answer was "yes, we had just talked about that ourselves!" The website doesn't adequately capture the beauty of the grounds and facilities, not to mention the fantastic scenery in the distance. I can't think of anything I'd change, other than booking for a longer stay next time!"

Architecture enthusiasts! Did you know that Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch was built by famous architect Josias Joesler? The old photo is a private house in Tucson designed by Joesler, built in 1931, and called “Mexican Farm House." The other image is an aerial view of our inner courtyard.

Josias Joesler was born in 1895 in Zurich, Switzerland. His architectural legacy would come to articulate the romantic revival Tucson style of the first half of the 20th century. Educated in Germany and France, he lived in Spain and has worked in Havana, Cuba, Mexico City and Los Angeles. Joesler married his wife Natividad and the two moved to Tucson in 1927.
