The iconic Arizona Inn swimming pool - added just a few years after the hotel opened in 1937, became the heart of leisurely desert afternoons long before heated resort pools were common. Guests arrived by train, stayed for weeks, and time learned how to rest. Walk the poolside and feel the joy, stillness, and stories waiting right where you stand.

Pink walls. Blue shutters. And a secret the algorithm can’t quite explain. This isn’t a color palette - it’s a feeling. Sun-warmed mornings. Slow footsteps. Shadows that know your name. A place that’s been quietly perfecting unbothered elegance since 1930.

Today, we remember Frank Sinatra (12 Dec 1915), one of the Inn’s celebrated guests from its storied past. Happy Birthday to a timeless voice whose path crossed Tucson more than once. From filming Dirty Dingus Magee in 1970 to Cannonball Run II in the early ’80s, his moments here became part of the desert’s quiet history. We are humbled knowing that his story still echoes within these walls. May his legacy of artistry, charisma, and unforgettable sound continue to inspire us all.

On November 30th, something truly special unfolded in our gardens. More than 650 members of our Tucson community gathered beneath the palms for the Arizona Inn’s First Annual Christmas Tree Lighting - a moment that felt less like a new event and more like a beloved tradition rediscovered.

Since the earliest days, our deep pink stucco walls have been one of the Inn’s most iconic and unifying features. When Isabella Greenway opened the Arizona Inn, she envisioned a retreat defined by light, calm, and unmistakable character. The pink walls that surround our casitas and gardens were always part of her vision

Nearly a century later, the color remains unchanged. Not a trend. Not an update. Simply the shade this place has always worn.

Hidden deep in the Inn’s history is a secret most guests never hear… our gardens have been tended by the same landscapers for more than two decades. A legacy of devotion, they’re the quiet keepers of our desert beauty, season after season.

In a hotel built in 1930, every dish has to earn its story.
Some fade. A few endure. And then there are the Brussels sprouts - crisp, garlicky, crowned with goat-cheese panna cotta and balsamic pearls, a combination Tucson never saw coming.

On a spring day in 1933, the children of three prominent Washington figures spent the day at the Arizona Inn. Seated here in the Library, from left to right: Elliott Roosevelt, son of President Franklin D. Roosevelt; Ellen McAdoo, granddaughter of President Woodrow Wilson and daughter of Senator William McAdoo; and William H. Wooden Jr., son of Treasury Secretary William H. Wooden.

Mr. Roosevelt was enjoying an extended stay at the Inn. Miss McAdoo was attending the exclusive Hacienda Del Sol School for Girls - Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort, while Mr. Wooden was a longtime Tucson resident.
