Every piece starts out the same way: white, clean, and ready for whatever comes next. The customization is the part of the process we go all in on. ⁠

A vinyl wrap pattern, a paint color pulled straight from an invitation suite, a monogram sized to fit exactly where it makes a statement. Customization isn't just an add-on for us, it's the work itself. ⁠

Once that white base carries a color, a pattern, or a detail specific to your event, it becomes one of a kind and sets the tone for the entire space around it.⁠

It began with a fake lookbook, recognizing that customization was missing from the industry, and a family effort... specifically, Lindsay’s dad, brother, and husband building bars from the ground up (with Lindsay’s eye for attention to details). ⁠
⁠
What started in a garage grew because of an obsession with details that our event partners couldn’t find with other companies. Proportions, sightlines, the height of a bookshelf behind a bar... these are the things that separate custom work that looks intentional from custom work that just... exists. Eventually the garage wasn’t enough, and neither was outsourcing the builds, and we knew we had to bring that same attention to detail in-house.⁠

It’s our eye for design that built Vivant’s production department from scratch... and that also keeps us constantly building and evolving. ⁠

This Eleanor bar design was built like something you'd find at home... arched display shelving, glassware ready to pour, a quiet spot to linger before the tent opens up behind it. ⁠

Under the tent, that same instinct was carried through with soft draping and a long table with Clara chairs set for an evening among the oaks.⁠
⁠
That's the standard behind every one of our builds- pieces that are refined enough that no one thinks of them as a rental at all. Just something that feels like it was always meant to be there.⁠

The lounges at this ⁠ wedding were such an integral part of this design. ⁠

Teak frames, whitewashed wood coffee tables, blush and chartreuse pillows layered against cream cushions. We love how placed the white swivel Janessa chairs, creating vignettes that felt less like “event seating” and more like a room someone actually designed.⁠

Lounges like these are where the details of a design compound. Get the mix right and guests will never want to leave their seats.⁠

For this day with , our Camille Chair did exactly that. Its clean lines and warm, neutral upholstery gave the entire design room to shine, while still adding the kind of polish a room needs to feel finished.⁠

Recently chatting with Katie from Bowery & Bash - Chicago & Midwest Rentals ✨ , we talked through how we handle customizations for our production team, with one of our systems being using a curated list of “house colors” to simplify decision-making (a genius idea we picked up from Mandy at Prop House, who we’re crediting fully here).⁠
⁠
But the real conversation here was also about trust. When a creative partner like ANNA LUCIA sends over a color that makes the whole team triple check, you learn to trust the vision, even when you can’t see the full picture yet. Because every single time, it comes together beautifully. ⁠
⁠
This is what collaboration looks like: borrowing good ideas, trusting your creative partners, and occasionally painting a bar back to vanilla when the job is done. 🙂⁠

A bar rarely stands alone, and we think the space behind it deserves attention too.⁠

For this build, we carried a custom pattern from the front of the bar straight up the Evelyn walls behind it, turning what's usually just a backdrop into part of the design itself. It created a single, cohesive moment- no doubt one that guests will remember for quite some time.⁠
⁠
It's exactly the kind of design we love collaborating on with planners and designers- taking a bar and elevating it to become a destination that's part of the entire event experience. ⁠
