Our PEP team has suffered another great loss over this past weekend. We are broken hearted to share on Saturday, October 22nd, Ruben Gutierrez lost his life in a fatal collision while dirt bike riding in the desert of Ocotillo Wells.

Ruben was a genuine soul and a phenomenal employee. His smile would light up any room and his sweet spirit truly made a positive impact on everyone he met. He was passionate about work and was eager to attend college.

Our hearts go out to his family who are navigating this tragedy.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers while Pacific Events works thru another unimaginable loss.

Rest in Peace Ruben…you made some great friends here at PEP…you will be missed.

Pacific Event Productions/PEP Creative has always been a family. Whether we used this term when taking about our team (now multigenerational) or about our clients and suppliers, family has always been a top core value.

On Sunday, September 4th, we lost our company matriarch, Joanne Mera in a tragic sea plane crash near Seattle that took her life and that of nine other souls. Joanne was leaving special family time to be home today to celebrate her wedding anniversary with husband Victor.

For over 33 years, Joanne has served as the heart of PEP. As my business partner, work wife, friend and friend who became family, I have watched firsthand Joanne’s commitment to her family, her friends, her team, our clients and industry partners. She so loved working with each of you. Our work fueled her and the relationships she built with you, even more.

Joanne was passionate about people, their stories and their dreams. Her bright colors, her love of being connected and her ability to bring levity to every conversation were hallmarks to PEP, our culture and our relationships with you.

As you can imagine, this is a difficult time for the Mera family, the PEP team and the countless others who knew, respected and loved Joanne. We are all navigating this tragedy the best we can.

Joanne is survived by her husband Victor, 2 sons, 1 daughter, many family members and friends. Thank you for your kind words and prayers as our Pacific Events family works thru an unimaginable loss.

During this difficult period, we ask that you refrain from reaching out to the family directly at this time.

Joanne, you are still loved by so many and we will miss you greatly!!!
