I'm not a lawyer but some of your contracts need one. We all know things can happen and having a well constructed contract can not only protect the client but it also protects you too! Im THAT wedding planner that is going to make sure all terms are solid because as a professional business, you should have a proper contract. Below are a few terms I want to make sure are addressed in your contract:
1. Proper names, addresses and phone numbers of both the vendor and client to be listed in the agreement.
2. A list of services provided
3. Terms of cancellation.... for both parties. What happens if they cancel? What happens if you cancel?
4. What is your reschedule policy?
5. When the final balance is due and how it should be paid.
Yes, there is more but that varies on the vendor.
Planning a wedding? Hold off on those major decisions until you've secured your dream venue! Here are 3 major decisions that your wedding venue can dictate:
1. Waiting until you find your venue will allow you to select the proper wedding dress based on the style of the venue. Ball gowns will look odd in a super contemporary venue and imagine the amount of sand a lace dress can collect on a windy Caribbean day! Waiting until you know how long your aisle will be will help you determine whether to select the dress with the long train or not.
2. Wait until you select your venue to select your color scheme. Keep in an open mind as some venues are a blank slate while other venues look amazing with certain color schemes.
3. Wait until you select your wedding venue to select your bridal party. While most spaces can accommodate a large wedding party, some spaces can not. The bride and groom should be the main focus at the altar, not a crammed bridal party.
