Every good design starts with listening. Not just to what excited this couple, but to what felt wrong for them too, so we could rule it out before it ever made it onto the table.

What we kept was art that meant something. The bride hand painted the artwork on the bar signs and table numbers herself, and we built the design around protecting that talent, not covering it up. Place cards and signage were designed to work as hard as they looked beautiful, guiding guests to their seats while still feeling like a piece of this couple’s story.

That is the difference between decor that looks nice in photos and design that actually feels like you. Every layout, seating chart, and detail was planned on paper first, checked against what felt true to this couple, then built to match exactly.

When the mother of the bride found us I remember determined to work with them because up until that point the planning process had just been difficult. They had a vision but were hitting road blocks to finding a place and team to execute it. Over the next ten months we assembled that team and worked closely with them to create the experience that was authentic to them and left time for spontaneity… which this swoon worthy exit being one of many highlights of the weekend…

The forecast said we had another hour of clear skies and that was a lie. In minutes, the wind picked up hard enough to nearly snap the ceremony flowers this couple had made themselves. There was no version of this wedding where those flowers did not make it down the aisle.

So I went out into it. Lightning, torrential rain, wind strong enough to bend metal, and I stood there holding those stands upright while I waited for my team to bring gear to undo the stakes.

My clothes were ruined. The flower arches were not.
