A few weeks ago I received a call from a bride who couldn’t find a DJ. She called everyone from VT to Albany, and everyone she called was booked. I can tell she was in tears talking to her and was frustrated. After explaining to her that I wanted to be done, she wouldn’t take no for an answer. Ultimately, I did give in and told her I would perform at her wedding. As the conversation went on, I didn’t realize I did both of her nieces weddings, her nephews wedding, and 2 other family members. She said I have been the family DJ for well over 20 years. As I was on the other side smiling, it made me realize how wonderful it is to help people out when they need help the most. As we wrapped up the conversation, she thanked me more times than I could count. Putting this all together really made me think about things. As much as I love it, it’s tough to give up. I have passed on so many weddings and now I’m asking myself, are these couples going through the same thing this poor bride is?
So with that being said, I have decided not to sell out, but to scale down (Tremendously) on my bookings per month. I won’t be booking a lot, but hoping to help make someone’s day very special!
