Jesse Reing has over ten years of experience in the hospitality and event industry. Born, raised, and bat-mitzvahed in Westchester County. From a young age, Jesse knew her purpose in life was to help people realize their vision for their most important occasions. Her creativity, precision, and passion for bespoke service set her apart from her industry peers. After graduating from Binghamton University, Jesse actualized her purpose by earning an MBA in Hotel Management from University Center Cesar Ritz, an internationally renowned hotel school in Switzerland. Jesse returned to NYC and worked in catering and events for Manhattan luxury hotels; Jesse began planting the seeds for what would soon become ‘Events by Jesse.’ By attending the Institute of Culinary Education and obtaining a diploma in Pastry and Baking Arts and Culinary Management, Jesse gained a heightened level of expertise that would allow her to relate to all elements of event planning. Other highlights of Jesse’s career include managing Michelin Star restaurants, leading the catering team for the President of FIT, and acting as the catering director for NYC’s largest independently owned cafe brand, FIKA. Given her unique experience in client services and her previous work as a vendor, she seamlessly navigates her clients’ wants and needs through the event planning trifecta — catering, entertainment, and design/decor.

If a planner is in your wedding budget, book us first. Not last. 📋✨

We hear this a lot from couples who book us first: everything just felt easier. They weren’t scrambling to figure out their budget after they’d already fallen in love with a venue, or realizing halfway through planning that their guest count didn’t match their space. We sit down with you at the very beginning and get all of that sorted first, budget, timeline, guest count, must haves, no’s, so every decision after that is an easy one.

NEW FEATURE IN Wedding Chicks® and it’s my wedding from last year! *screaming* ✨🪩🌺 Link in bio to read more!

Jesse and Joe first met aboard a four-day cruise called Jewbilee, where an unexpected dinner conversation and plenty of shared gossip about fellow passengers sparked an instant connection. “My first impression of Joe was that he was a very good-looking nerd,” Jesse recalled. While she wasn’t looking for forever at the time, his kindness, humor, and compassion slowly won her over. One year later, they were living in New York together, and by the following September, Joe proposed in their first home with a cherished family heirloom ring.

As a wedding planner herself, Jesse approached planning with one guiding philosophy: if something feels fun and authentic, it’s worth doing. Rather than following trends, the couple embraced every wonderfully unconventional idea that reflected their personalities, creating a wedding at Saugerties Performing Arts Factory that felt equal parts whimsical, theatrical, and deeply personal.

Happy one year anniversary, Caitlin and Josh. It was a joy—scratch that, a privilege—to collaborate with you both on your wedding planning and design for your wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns.

Looking back at your ceremony photos reminded us of how much love surrounded you both as you embarked on this journey to marriage. There were tears, laughs, and a collective wish for you both to enjoy this new chapter of your story.

The entire Events by Jesse team is wishing you both a year full of more delicious food and movie marathons ♥️

Your wedding morning is just as important as your ceremony and reception.

While you’re getting ready, we create something like a “do not disturb” setting around you. Vendor arrivals, setup, any bridal party hiccups. We anticipate it before it becomes your problem.

Every question, every request, gets directed to us. And if you need an update, we know how to give it without pulling you out of the moment.

Raise your hand if you just got engaged and have no idea what your wedding budget is.

In the beginning, it’s ok to be in the dream part of wedding planning, the part where you both talk about everything you’d love your wedding to be. Eventually though, it’s time to get real about that budget, so you can find the perfect vendors who check every box, including budget, and avoid getting locked into contracts with a venue or vendor that isn’t actually right for you.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, this process is tough. A lot of couples avoid the budget conversation because they’re afraid it’ll reveal they can’t afford the wedding they really want. But you can.

First step: bring in the professionals. Someone like us, who has planned 200+ weddings, to help you break down your wedding wish list and translate it into a realistic budget. Don’t worry, we handle all the numbers and spreadsheets. From there, we help you consult with vendors to see where your budget can go, which venue is the best fit, and we review every detail with you before you sign anything.

If this sounds good but you want to see if we’re the right fit first, book a complimentary wedding strategy call with us. We’ll answer your questions and share more about our process and how we work.

Our clients Benny and Frances wanted to have a wedding party at the Bordone that felt like one big celebration filled with surprise moments for guests throughout the night. They knew they weren’t going to have a traditional wedding day, since this was only going to be a reception with no ceremony, but still wanted to partake in some wedding day customs like wedding favors. With family in New York City and in Rome, and food at the center of everything they do, they decided to infuse *literally* peppers from their garden in Brooklyn and Rome, honoring the two places they call home, and giving guests a taste of something deeply personal to them.

If you’re still putting together ideas for your wedding favors, start with something you both love or feels personal to you. Can you make a mini version of that?

Society still treats weddings like they belong to the bride, with the groom along for the ride. Sidelining grooms from planning isn’t just outdated. It’s toxic. It tells him his own wedding is something that happens to him, not something he helped build.

That’s why we do things differently. Every couple we work with gets equal updates, equal input, equal say. Not “keep the bride in the loop and fill him in later.” Equal, from day one.

When I started Events by Jesse, I wanted to do more than plan beautiful weddings. I wanted to rewrite how weddings get planned. That meant rejecting the “it’s the bride’s day” script and the lazy assumption that grooms just show up looking good and stay out of the way.

The industry is shifting, slowly. But we’re still stuck in this weird “it’s his day too” era, like that’s a bold statement and not just obvious. So, we’re not waiting for the industry to catch up. Equal has been the standard here since day one.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

The other day I was thinking about why our whole brand is “your wedding planner bff.”

I think it’s because we care about your wedding like a bff would. Excited to hear the details. Ready to offer helpful input. Building a relationship where you trust us to take things off your plate.

It’s also our communication style. Always reachable by text or email. You will never feel left on read.

When you’re planning your wedding, you learn fast that even though it matters to your core support system, your wedding can’t revolve around their lives. For us, it can. That’s what full-service planning includes.

We’ve been planning weddings for over 13 years, and it’s what we’re known for. That hands on, supportive experience.🖤
