Last week I attended The Knot Gala!

Back 11 years ago when I was starting this was my
✨DREAM ✨
This was before I understood how the industry worked, and before I had ever gotten frustrated with bookings, or leads, or publications. I just knew I wanted to be in that room and there is something truly special about this industry, the community, and the events that we hold.
Seeing event design and ideas from other peers in this industry is truly beautiful.
I have had my fair share of complaints about the knot, wedding wire, and wedding publications in general. Hell… I tried to start an app specifically to combat my arguments about their practices.
But there is something to be said about being recognized and invited to the Knot Gala (or to so many other events that we go to/publications that we get in). A lot of it is pay to play these days but It feels great to be able to feel recognized by other vendors that you look up to. I’m glad the knot is beginning to do the work to address some of the concerns from the past few years and uplifting the talented vendors in our community rather than just profiting off of them. And there’s soooo much more work to be done.
I guess all of this is to say, I feel so honored and blessed to be a part of the New York events community and all of the beautiful talented souls in it, and being able to get dressed up and party with my colleagues turned friends from the past decade is more of a dream than I ever could have imagined… at any event Knot Gala or not.
Huge thank you to for making me beautiful and hosting the pre party at and for the beautiful street photos and to and for being the best Gala dates a girl could ask for.
