We’re preparing to host one of our first sit-down dinners this week, and it’s been so much fun putting all the details together!

We continue to make progress as we inch closer to opening our books and welcoming you into this beautiful space. Every week brings something new, and we’re getting more excited about what’s ahead!

OUR BIGGEST WEDDING WEEKEND EVER! 🤍

Love Betty Bridal and James Dell had double-digit weddings spanning five states this weekend, making it our biggest wedding weekend to date!

We’ve had this weekend circled on the calendar for months, and it’s pretty special to finally be on the other side of it knowing so many couples we’ve gotten to know and love are officially MARRIED!

We wish we could have celebrated with every one of them, but we were so happy to celebrate Chandler and Josh as they tied the knot at the Lanier Mansion.

Our hearts are full, we’re incredibly proud, and we’re celebrating right alongside ALL of our newlyweds.

WHAT A DOLLY DAY!

Like so many of you, we were heartbroken when we lost Dolly.

So when we started talking about 9/25, we knew exactly what we wanted Dolly Day to be. We wanted to bring some smiles back to all of us who were missing her.

We called our friends and fellow business owners, and they didn’t hesitate. Everyone found their own way to be part of it. And today, Madison smiled for Dolly.

We sang her songs, wore the sequins, laughed together, gave back, and celebrated a woman who brought so much joy to all of us.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today happen and everyone who came downtown to share it with us.

Dolly always had a way of making the world feel a little brighter. Today, this community did the same for each other.

And we think she would’ve loved that.

DOLLY IS COMING TO Poplar Place! 🦋💎

Well, the next best thing is, and we think she’d be pretty tickled about it!

We’ve teamed up with Mr. Aaron Kelsey and the incredibly talented MCHS Fine Arts Academy students to bring a whole lot of Dolly to Dolly Day!

The students have been busy creating pencil portraits of Dolly through the years, along with handmade Dolly-inspired jewelry. Stop in, see their work and cast your vote for People’s Choice!

And because this is Dolly Day, we thought the prize deserved a little extra sparkle. The student with the most votes will receive a FREE prom dress from Betty Jeffries or tux from James Dell!

While you’re here, Mr. Kelsey will be LIVE PAINTING, finishing this original oil portrait of Dolly right before our eyes. And Dolly can be yours! The finished painting will be up for silent auction with 50% of the proceeds benefiting the Jefferson County Imagination Library.

A little art. A little fashion. A lot of talent. And a chance to give back to something Dolly herself started. We can’t think of a better way to spend 9/25!

Phase 1 COMPLETE! 🎉

And we are thrilled! Today we finished up all the details to make the new ceremony space at Poplar Place look so stunning!

✅ New ceiling
✅ New lighting
✅ Fresh paint

It was quite the undertaking but we still can’t get over how beautiful this space is! It’s the perfect place to say “I do”!

Now we bring in decor, get to work on exterior updates, and get ready to welcome our happy couples! We’re still pushing for an October opening! I think we can do it! Stay tuned!

Let us pray.

This weekend our family came to visit us in Madison, and we finally got the chance to take them to Poplar Place and show them what we’ve been working on.

Before we left, I asked my dad to pray over it.

There have been a lot of prayers said inside Poplar Place over the years. For generations, people came through these doors to worship, to pray and to lean on their faith through whatever life brought their way. We know we’re only a small part of a much bigger history here, and that’s something we never want to lose sight of as we work to give this place a new purpose.

So together, we prayed for those who came before us and for the legacy they left behind. We prayed over the work happening here now and asked for God’s blessing on what Poplar Place is becoming.

And we prayed for the people we haven’t met yet.

For the couples who will walk through these doors on some of the biggest days of their lives. For the families who will sit together and watch someone they love say “I do.” For all the joy, nerves, happy tears and celebration that will one day happen here.

There was something special about standing there with our family, adding our own prayer to the many that have already been prayed in this place.

And we are excited for the many more still to come.
