Today is the 11-year anniversary of the day we purchased the Homestead! It’s quite a story of how it happened and we are so thankful for that bizzare day! We had no idea it would one day turn into a beautiful barn venue where so many people would begin their life journey as husband and wife. My how things have changed in 11 years and we are so lucky to call this place our home! Here’s to the Ole Red Barn Homestead! 🥂🍻🎉

Two young people working and traveling with the fair walked over to the Ole Red Barn Homestead this afternoon. They didn’t speak hardly any English, actually translated through the phone and asked if they could sit by the lake for a bit.

See below from our race team. Great people to be associated with! We had a great weekend meeting new people, promoting the boat, hanging out in the pits, etc.!

The 75th Madison Regatta didn’t go how we had hoped but the boat came back in one piece and the only damage was the battery. We would like to thank Grant Liddycoat and family for stepping in and driving when I couldn’t get away from my U91 duties. Grant did a great job and I appreciate his feedback on the boat! They are a first class racing family. We had made changes to the boat and were ready to make a run at the S35 team in the next heat. While sitting in the water at the dock waiting our turn, the Unlimiteds were coming back in from their heat. The waves created from the much bigger boats swamped our boat. Water rushed over the deck and into the engine compartment. Our battery was underwater. Boat wouldn’t start. Sunday we thought we had everything dried out but wouldn’t start again at the dock. Our battery seems to be issue. We will be ready for our next race. Big thanks to my wife and crew. They worked their butts off in the heat. Also thanks to Mike Noonan, Travis Johnson, Jeff Bernard, Jim Sechler and Tim Collins for their help over the weekend. Special thanks to Monkey Business Racing. I owe you one.

We had a great weekend promoting the boat with Sontag Racing at the Madison Regatta. The boat finished 2nd in its first heat, then an unfortunate incident kept it on the dock the following two races. After some work and changes to the boat, we were excited to see it race in the final late Sunday afternoon, but the final was cancelled due to windy conditions. Unfortunately, that’s how water sports go sometimes! Thanks for all your comments and support this weekend!
Now, back to weddings next weekend for the Ole Red Barn Bunch!

Good morning from the Ole Red Barn racing team! We had a great day yesterday, especially at the parade! The Sontag Racing crew and Ole Red Barn team handed out Koozies, candy, buttons, flags, and mini-frisbees throughout the parade route. We enjoyed seeing so many people lining the streets of Madison and enjoying the festivities!! We were so glad to be a part of it!! Go S22!!! 🏁🏁🏁
