Longtime friend, Move Up’er, and pro photographer Randy Braley spent the day capturing photos for us at Muleskinner.

Randy has been documenting MGC since the beginning, back when this was still a little backyard fundraiser ride, and he’s watched it grow year after year through his lens.

We’re really thankful for people like Randy in this community.

There are 560 photos in the full album. Please like, share, tag your friends, and feel free to use these photos for personal use.

Last year’s Muleskinner winner, Tyler Dunham , spent this year behind the lens capturing the day from a completely different perspective.

Tyler put together an awesome gallery from Saturday that really captures the energy of the event, the people, and a lot of the small moments that make this race what it is. Go check out his Instagram to see more from the weekend and the other things that regularly catch his eye.

Dan Hughes absolutely crushed it with the race photos this year. These are just a handful of the shots that caught our eye, but honestly, we could’ve made about 20 different posts from his gallery alone. From the racing, to the volunteers, to the kids and all the moments in between, Dan captured the atmosphere of the day perfectly.

The full gallery is available for free download on SmugMug. If you share a photo, give a tag. And if you find one that really belongs on your wall or in the pain cave, consider picking up a print or high-res download to support someone who gives a ton of time and talent to this event every year.

Congrats to everyone who put themselves out there Saturday.

Our courses may not be the longest, and they might not be the roughest, but they’re far from easy — and the level of competition that showed up Saturday ensured every one of you standing on these podiums earned it.

We also had some incredible people help us make these podiums feel worthy of the effort. Kyle Skinner, the best farrier in these parts, provided horseshoes that have seen some real-life horsin’ around. Jason Chase polished those shoes and designed custom plaques for every top-3 finisher. Wineteer Construction and Bike Stop put up $1,000 in payouts for the Open 68 and Women’s 68 categories, and Mano’s Wine created custom bottles for our first-place finishers.

These awards are fun, but they’re only special because of the people holding them. Congrats again to all of you.

We couldn’t be happier with how yesterday went!

Muleskinner Gravel Classic returns on Saturday, May 8th, 2027. Mark your calendars now.

Your attendance and support mean the world to us and the Move Up Cycling Club juniors. Every dollar that wasn’t needed to directly operate the event will go right back into helping make this sport more accessible for junior racers and their families. You didn’t just show up and race your bike yesterday. You helped make a real impact in your local cycling community.

Also, keep an eye out for photos coming soon. We were incredibly fortunate to have three talented photographers donate their time throughout the day, and they captured a lot of great moments that we can’t wait to share.

In the meantime, help us keep the post-race energy rolling. Drop your favorite photo from yesterday in the comments. One photo, three photos, a finish line shot, mid-race suffering, post-race hangs… we want to see it all.

We would love to see you at PaPPo’s Pizzeria Friday May 8th from 5-7pm for packet pickup!

Registration for Muleskinner Gravel Classic is still open.

This event is more than just a race weekend for us. It’s one of the primary ways we fund junior cycling programs throughout the year. Your registration helps support free practices, coaching, equipment, race entry fees for families, and the continued growth of youth cycling in Kansas City.

Our Summer MTB season begins May 21st, and 42 of the 50 available spots are already filled.

The program is led by a volunteer staff of 10+ coaches made up of professional coaches and veteran racers who care deeply about building the next generation of riders. Many of those same coaches will be racing Muleskinner themselves this Saturday before turning around and volunteering their time throughout the summer to coach kids at practice.

If you’ve been thinking about getting your junior involved, sign-ups for the Summer MTB season are still open through the Move Up Cycling Club website.

And if you want to support what this community is building, come race Muleskinner with us this weekend.

We’d love to have you there.
