Awwww yeah, my cosmic creatures of the groove, get ready to beam down and boogie under the eerie glow of the Appalachian moonlight, ‘cause Funktafest 9 is shapeshifting into two whole days of sonic exploration and supernatural vibes! We’re crankin’ the mothership up higher than ever before with a weekend full of funky frequencies, mystical energy, and soul-shaking rhythm deep in the heart of Huntington, West Virginia. Our legendary duo Funkle Sam and Eyeguy are your guides once again, leading you through a portal of jam-heavy, rock-fused, funkadelic soundscapes. Expect electrifying sets from the region’s top groove-makers, plus otherworldly surprises that might just send a chill down your spine—or a shake through your soul. Here’s what’s in the funky forest this year:

Two Days of Live Music: Jam, funk, rock, soul, and the grooviest blends of each, performed by the best in the scene. Flow & Fire Artists: Watch the sparks fly and maybe even learn some tricks yourself at our interactive workshops. Funky Kidz Korner: A creative zone for the little funkateers, fully interactive, imaginative, and safe. (Saturday Only!)
FunkYoga: Stretch your aura and align your chakras with sessions from the area’s best yogis. (Saturday Only!)
Arts & Crafts Village: Local makers bring the magic, handmade goods, wild visuals, and one-of-a-kind creations. Craft Beer & Food Vendors: Treat your taste buds with a wide selection of eats and brews. Silent Disco Area: Strap on a headset and get lost in a DJ-led dimension of rhythm and light. (Saturday Only!)
Funky Disc Golf: Enjoy a short round of pitch and putt disc golf with your buds nestled in the scenic landscape of Ritter Park's rolling hills. Whether you’re drawn by the beat or something more mysterious lurking behind the trees, this celebration of sound, spirit, and strangeness is calling your name. You may even feel those glowing red eyes watching from the hills…

Get your early bird tickets now, single-day and weekend passes available for General Admission and VIP. Children 12 and under get in free with a supervising adult. Furry friends are welcome on leashes, but leave those coolers at home (sealed water bottles only). This is a RAIN OR SHINE interdimensional adventure. We’re still looking for a few ARTISAN & CRAFT VENDORS to join our Vendor Village at Ritter Park Amphitheater!

🎨 Friday: $90
🎨 Saturday: $100
🎨 Full Weekend: $150

Open to artists, makers, crafters, nonprofits, community organizations, and retail vendors. (No food vendors.)

Registration includes:
🎟️ Two GA passes for the corresponding day(s)
⛺ One designated 10' x 10' vendor space
⚡ Electrical access
🛒 Wheelbarrow access for load-in/load-out
📣 Social media vendor spotlight on September 28

Vendors provide their own tent, tables, chairs, lighting, extension cords, and display materials.

"Huntington raised bass DJ EYE.V has been bringing the funk and dubstep across the US for two years now, playing venues in Denver, Pittsburgh, and Columbus to name a few. You can expect his patio takeover to bring the old-school hip-hop vibes mixed, with the good vibes of funk soul dubstep. Artists you can expect to be played in his sets include Pretty Lights, Griz and LSDream. Keep an EYE out for this one, it’s sure to be a groovy takeover."

🎟️ KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Getting to Funktafest X

We’ve heard some questions about getting to Funktafest X with the 12th Street Bridge currently closed, so don’t worry! Ritter Park Amphitheater and festival parking remain accessible, and we’ll have signage helping direct you when you arrive.

🚗 GENERAL PARKING
The majority of festival parking will be along Caldwell Road. Enter Caldwell Road through the gate immediately past the Ritter Park Rose Garden. Signs will direct vehicles to park along both sides of Caldwell Road leading toward the amphitheater.

♿ ACCESSIBLE PARKING
A limited number of accessible parking spaces will be available in the upper lot immediately outside the Funktafest front gate.

⭐ VIP & SPONSOR PARKING
The upper amphitheater lot is reserved for VIP passholders and Gold Level or higher sponsors.

🚙 ADDITIONAL PARKING
Limited parking will also be available along 12th Street past the tennis and pickleball courts, leading toward the festival entrance.

🚌 DON’T WANT TO DRIVE UP? TAKE THE FUNKY BUS!
Park near the base of Ritter Park and catch the FREE Funky Bus from the Ritter Park Fountain directly to the Funktafest front gate.

The Funky Bus will continuously loop between:
Marshall University (John Marshall Statue) → Ritter Park Fountain → Funktafest Front Gate

Whether you drive, park and ride, or hop aboard the Funky Bus, you’ll be able to get to Funktafest! We’ll have signs and volunteers helping everyone find their way once you arrive. 🎮🚌

The Funktafest X Artisan Village is filling up! Today, we’re shining the spotlight on local resource vendor Cycle of Care!

✂️ THE RESOURCE:
"Cycle of Care is an agency dedicated to ensuring access to free menstrual products to promote dignity, health, and equity by addressing period poverty through community support. We currently have lockers housing free menstrual products at The Market, the Cabell Huntington Health Department, as well as a dispenser at the Huntington Childrens’ Museum and more partnerships coming soon. For Funktafest, we will be providing more traditional menstrual products such as tampons and pads, as well as reusable period underwear and cups. In addition to products we’ll have personal education on how to choose and use products, stickers, magnets, and we’ll be bringing the fun(k) because we are stopping the stigma around periods!"

He's known for drawing anything from Pokémon, to horror creatures, as well as animating cartoons, and specializes in 60-second drawings where he tries to draw anything you want in 60 seconds for $5 with the disclaimer that it MIGHT be good. 🎧 THE SOUND:
"Friendly Fire is a three-piece, pop/rock band from Huntington, West Virginia. The band comprises Hank Berlin on bass guitar and vocals, James Harless on guitar and lead vocals, and Alex McCoy on drums and lead vocals. The band was founded in the summer of 2015.
Working with acclaimed guitarist and songwriter James Barker, the band entered the studio in early 2021 and recorded their first full-length album, Junebug, released in August of 2021.
Band influences include John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Talking Heads, Nirvana, Teenage Fanclub, Smashing Pumpkins, and Bruce Springsteen.
The band is currently booking dates and working on their second, full-length album."
