100 years ago, Nosferatu was almost entirely eradicated from the face of the Earth?

After Bram Stoker's death, his wife, furious about the similarities between Nosferatu & her husband's Dracula, had all known film prints and negatives destroyed under the terms of copyright infringement.
The film would subsequently resurface through second-generation reels in other countries, and after being banned for 50 years, went on to be viewed as one of the most inspirational horror films ever; It’s not just a knockoff—it’s an expressionist masterpiece.
