Robert Piest was John Wayne Gacy’s final victim. His disappearance helped bring the truth to light.

On December 11, 1978, 15-year-old Robert disappeared after leaving his job at a Des Plaines pharmacy to speak with Gacy about potential work. His family immediately pushed for answers, and the investigation led police to Gacy’s home, where evidence connected Robert to the property.

That investigation ultimately exposed the extent of Gacy’s crimes and led to the discovery of dozens of other victims.

At Serial Killer: The Exhibition, their names and stories are part of the history we cannot leave out.

🦷 On view at Serial Killer: The Exhibition is Ted Bundy’s actual dental cast, evidence that played a critical role in his conviction.

A bite mark found on a victim was compared to Bundy’s dental impressions. His highly irregular teeth created a distinctive pattern that helped link him directly to the crime scene.

At a time when forensic odontology was still developing, the case became a significant example of how bite mark analysis could be used as evidence in a criminal trial.
