A celebration of great wine, good food and the people behind the bottle. 🍷

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kumeu River to Boomrock for an afternoon dedicated to wine, food and the stories behind each bottle.

Our guests tasted eight Kumeu River wines and sparkling releases, including their newly released Chardonnays, with winemaker Michael Brajkovich taking us through each one and sharing the stories of the vineyards and the craft behind them.

Add a paired three-course lunch and those coastal views, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin our Wellington On a Plate event series.

Next, we’re looking forward to welcoming Escarpment and winemaker Tim Bourne to Boomrock for another Wellinton on a Plate event on August 29th.

And the wine doesn’t stop there — our festive Quartz Reef Wine Tasting Lunch in December 2nd offers another opportunity to enjoy another exceptional New Zealand wine, beautiful food and a Boomrock afternoon. Tickets are available now via the link in our bio.

Two long lunches, two exceptional wineries, one wild coastal outlook.

On 8 August, Kumeu River bring their rare single vineyard Chardonnays south: tasted first, poured generously, matched to a three-course lunch by our kitchen.

On 29 August, Escarpment’s 2023 vintage meets the wild side of Wairarapa: wild boar, tītī, venison and Cook Strait snapper, each course matched to their range.

Both include return bus transport. Both are the kind of afternoon you’ll still be talking about for months to come.
