For some reason (that we still don't know) our Instagram account Patina_photo was suspended. We are actively working with Meta to get it back. But in the meantime we have created (what we really hope is) a backup account, so we can get back to sharing what we do and love - which is wedding photography!

Outdoor autumn vibes in Wellington? Sign us up! Kaajal and Krishna braved the the wellington wind with a stunning outdoor Hindu ceremony, surrounded by their nearest and dearest overlooking the Ohariu valley. Colourful saris, meaningful traditions and genuine laughs, delish food, and so much dancing! The whole day felt fun and heartfelt. Then came the reception outfit switch-up and they both looked seriously gorgeous. Huge shout-out to our vendor dream team for pulling off every detail. Moments like this remind us why we love capturing weddings.

Pop quiz: can you tell what these photos all have in common?

(Hint: it’s a technique straight out of the editorial and fashion world.)

It’s called *direct flash* — the flash sits right on top of the camera and fires straight at your subject. Think fashion week, film snaps, paparazzi, and late-night wedding dance floors. Raw, punchy, a little nostalgic, and *so much fun*.

You don’t need to know the technical terms when planning your wedding photos — that’s our job. But we love making it all make sense.
