TONIGHT: Mei Semones + Yawner

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Mei Semones blends indie rock, bossa nova, jazz and chamber pop into something entirely her own. Singing in both English and Japanese, her acclaimed debut album Animaru showcases dazzling guitar work and a warm, deeply personal approach to songwriting.

Plus rising R&B, soul and jazz band Yawner, based in Wellington. Fronted by the striking vocals of Eden Brown, the group blends hypnotic basslines and groove-driven percussive rhythms.

TONIGHT: Snapped Ankles + Umu

They came from the trees. Now settled in London, Snapped Ankles maintain the feral energy of the forest. Audiences can expect a shamanic ritual like experience. A truly unique, communal live performance of ancient forest rhythms and high-wire, multi media ex*****on.

UMU is a duo of Riki Gooch and Daniel Beban. Silver Apples meets Kuduro with Riki's deep grooves played on an 80s Roland electronic drum kit which are manipulated and dubbed out by Dan on two Tama Techstar drum synths.

TONIGHT: New York City’s pre-eminent No Wave icon 𝕷𝖞𝖉𝖎𝖆 𝕷𝖚𝖓𝖈𝖍 performing the Songs of Su***de & Alan Vega. Lunch has forged a lifetime of music and spoken-word performance devoted to the utter right of any woman to indulge, seek pleasure, and say “f**k you!” as loud as any man. Experience Lydia Lunch’s confrontational, acerbic and always electric artistry.

Support from avant-garde, Whanganui-based electronic duo Birdparty, the unlikely merging of electronic producer and sound designer Emma Bernard (Ludus) and metal musician William Barrett (Heresiarch). They set out with the intention to search the unexplored corners of music that lay between the genres, and the worlds collided to deliver a cathartically noisy spread of cinematic, semi-industrial goods & services.

TONIGHT: These New South Whales + Dropper

has the kind of raw energy that can berate authority and blow your haircut off in equal measure. Since their formation in 2011, the Melbourne foursome has evolved from brute force basement punk to hardcore fusion, their sound both expanding and refining over the course of four electrifying albums. Their latest offering GODSPEED pulls from an even broader church of influences – from baggy Madchester grooves to piano balladry – and features some of their heaviest and most experimental material to date.

The band’s Lōemis Festival appearance marks their first time in New Zealand. They are supported by powerhouse local band Dropper , making for a sensational Saturday night of rock n roll.

TONIGHT: Chanel Beads + Discovery Zone + Locola

Art pop outfit Chanel Beads head from New York City to Lōemis for their debut NZ performance. Fresh off tour dates opening for Lorde throughout the states, Chanel Beads brings to life their indescribable debut record "Your Day Will Come".

Joining them is Berlin based experimental multi media artist Discovery Zone, and NZ composer Lucola who draws on 70s and 80s electronic traditions to craft immersive, synth-driven music.
