One city, five venues, one big year!
As we wrapped the final show of the year this last weekend, here is Venues Wellington’s 2025 by the numbers…

• We had 347 performance shows and 82 business events, which welcomed over 400,000 guests. 😮

• Our attendees injected over 40 million into the local Wellington economy, including over 350,000 hotel nights. 💸

• Comedy had the biggest year overall, but top events included Bluey’s Big Play, Royal New Zealand Ballet - The Nutcracker, World of WearableArt (WOW), NZ Art Show, and Mamma Mia! 🎭

• Guests consumed over 16,000 lolly pots and 35,000 ice creams, proving that Wellington indeed has a sweet tooth. 🍬

• Our Fillgood cups were reused over 190,000 times, diverting 5.5 tonnes from the landfill. ♻️

Leftfield returns to Aotearoa New Zealand this 2 March with a show now upgraded to Wellington’s Shed 6.

Emerging from London’s club scene in 1989, Leftfield quickly became pioneers of UK electronic music. Their 1995 Mercury Prize winning debut Leftism, and its 1999 follow-up Rhythm and Stealth, placed them alongside 1990s electronica landmark acts like the Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy.
