Taradale Village, Hawkes Bay Coasty Toastie starts tomorrow!

Seven local spots, seven signature toasties and all of November to try them. There’s everything from slow-cooked beef brisket and bacon to butter chicken, pulled lamb and a roast chicken toastie with all the trimmings. 🤤

And guess what, Taste Hawke’s Bay is delighted to be part of the judging panel!

Grab a Toastie Passport and collect a punch each time you buy one. Three punches earn you an entry to win a $200 Taradale voucher, and trying all seven gets you three entries. You can also scan the QR code at a participating store to vote for your favourite in the People’s Choice.

And save the date: Toastie Crawl Saturday is 28 November, when all seven spots will be serving their toasties so you can tackle the whole trail in one go.

Six Hands, one unforgettable evening!

Central Fire Station Bistro was buzzing last night, with a full house and such a lovely atmosphere. What a treat to sit back, enjoy a beautiful meal and watch three talented chefs Regnar Christensen, Casey McDonald and Sam Clark do their thing.

Three snacks, three courses and a lovely reminder of how special our local food scene is. Thank you for having us.

Meet The Pizza “Dawg” 🌭🍕

Three Wise Birds Garden Bar has added a new Sunday-only special, and it’s a fun twist on their new Pizza options.

A Waipawa Butchery kransky sausage, wrapped in sourdough pizza dough and topped with bacon and bourbon jam, American smoked cheddar, and jalapeño-lime mayo.

The Pizza Dawg is $24 and available on Sundays only. Sounds like a pretty delicious reason to head to the Garden Bar! 🤤

Okay Hawke’s Bay…..you need to put Hunger Monger back on your radar!

A longtime local spot, now with new owners, a new direction and definitely worth rediscovering.

I went in to check it out and ordered a selection of smaller plates — and honestly, I loved it. Beautiful food, loads of flavour, quality produce and the staff rock!

How good was it? I’ve been twice in two days 😂
And as I’m writing this,also genuinely contemplating going back for breakfast this morning… so I think that tells you everything you need to know.

Note- if you remember Hunger Monger as the seafood restaurant it once was, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the fresh new direction.

This weather calls for comfort food… and Lone Star Napier has it sorted!
