A huge thank you to Buchanan’s of Scotland for generously donating their brand-new postcard range of Scottish sweets to keep our Edinburgh Tartan Parade volunteers fuelled throughout the day! 🍬

From refreshing Iron Brew Pastilles to classic Butterscotch and indulgent Chocolate Caramels, these sweet treats helped keep our volunteer crew smiling from start to finish.

Since 1856, Buchanan’s has been crafting quality confectionery in the heart of Scotland, combining love, skill, and attention to detail in every sweet.

Thank you for helping make the day a little sweeter for the incredible volunteers who make the Edinburgh Tartan Parade possible! 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This week we’re featuring the new & its Tartan, created to mark 300 years of medical education at the University of Edinburgh.

We have to admit, when we first saw the group approaching the Tartan Bus, our initial reaction was ‘What’s happening there?!’ Thankfully, no medical emergencies during the Parade, just the brilliant students from Edinburgh Medical School putting on a memorable display and showing off some of their skills along the route! ✨

Thank you to everyone from Edinburgh Medical School who took part and helped make the day such a success - and a special thank you to all those in the medical profession for everything you do for our communities! ❤️

We almost missed it today, but after a fair bit of archive digging (and gosh, it really did take some digging 📸📚), we managed to find these three photos from a talk Diana Gabaldon gave in Edinburgh years ago!

They’re not the best photos we’ve ever taken, but they capture three moments we absolutely love!❤️

The first was Diana talking about how Outlander began: “Scotland, 18th century...” with no plot, no outline and no characters…

The second was the now rather funny question: “Have you heard of a TV show called Outlander?”

And the third was someone asking how it felt to have brought more people to Scotland than the Loch Ness Monster. 😅

Looking back now, it’s amazing to see how much Outlander has grown over the years, and how many people it has inspired to discover Scotland, its history and its stories.

We’re grateful to have witnessed even a tiny part of that journey. Happy World Outlander Day! ❤️

A fantastic day at the Blackford Highland Games! ✨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We loved soaking up the atmosphere with , watching the fantastic Highland dancing, spotting the giant piper roaming the grounds, and just all the action from the traditional Highland Games competitions.

Kept the original sound on these clips because the energy is just too good not to share - entertaining, authentic, and awesome! ❤️

A huge thank you to Purely Scottish Natural Mineral Water for donating so many cans of water to help keep our amazing volunteers hydrated throughout the day! 💧

Emily from the Tartan Parade Scotland team made the trip to their HQ in East Lothian to collect the donation, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support.

Fresh, recyclable, and perfectly portable, Purely Scottish Water’s canned water helped keep everyone refreshed throughout the event while reducing plastic waste, making it the perfect fit for our celebration and values.

We couldn’t put on events like this without the support of brilliant Scottish businesses, so thank you once again for helping make the event such a fantastic celebration of Scottish culture, music and community spirit! ✨

Such a lovely and talented group of dancers! ✨ It was a pleasure to watch Lindsay School of Dancing at the Ceilidh in the Gardens! 🎶

Lindsay School of Dancing runs classes in Laurencekirk and Stonehaven, with tuition available in ballet, tap, modern, jazz and highland dancing. Ballet classes start from age 2.

Do you recognise who’s giving us a wee wave? 👋😉 Hint: It’s the President of the NYC Tartan Parade and our very first Grand Marshal 2025! 💛

For this week’s , we are delighted to spotlight the wonderful Krewe of Europa, who travelled all the way from Tampa, Florida to take part in this year’s Edinburgh Tartan Parade 💕

Bringing colourful international energy, creativity, and community spirit to the streets of Edinburgh, their participation was a wonderful reminder of how tartan, culture, and celebration connect people from across the world! 🗺️
