I’m O’Hara Kamis, a Canadian visual artist with a Lebanese background and the creator behind Stay Groovy Creations. I strive to brighten our world with vibrant, contemporary art while collaborating with the creative community to spark connection, self-expression, and a little more groove.
I draw inspiration from many places, my environmental education, loved ones, dreams, nature, culture and authentic experiences. These elements feed into the psychedelic surrealism, feminine energy, and intuitive feeling that run through my paintings and designs.
For the “Dub Culture” design, I wanted to bring the play on words together of “dub” and “culture” while showing elements of the moment through various doors that tap into different versions of self. This piece ties into the spirit of Dubversified Culture, a space built for artists, creators, and the bass-driven community to connect authentically through music, movement, and visual art.
My favourite design I made is Aurora Blade! It remains one of my favourites because of the strong sense of dimension and the smooth transitions between colours. Before this, I mostly used gold leaf only on black-and-white paintings, until I decided to combine my two styles of artwork into one.
