May 8th was a huge milestone for us.

We made our very first trek out West to host Driving While Indigenous in Enoch, Alberta at the beautiful River Cree Resort & Casino.

From Manitoba to Alberta, our team packed up the vision, the energy, the music, the stories, the giveaways, the laughter, and the purpose behind this movement and brought it across provinces. Seeing people travel in from ALL OVER CANADA to be there was indication that this is becoming something much bigger than we ever imagined, and proof that Indigenous excellence, motivation, healing, business, leadership, comedy, music, and connection deserve big spaces too!

A huge thank you to our incredible speakers, performers, volunteers, vendors, and every single attendee who showed up with open hearts and good energy. This event cannot happen without people willing to believe in the vision and work hard behind the scenes to bring it to life.

We also want to sincerely thank our partners in giving, Arrowhead Industrial Insulators and Heart Lake First Nations Construction, for your support and generosity. Your partnership helped make this experience possible and meaningful for so many people.

We are beyond grateful for you all.

And the best part?
We’re just getting started. 🔥

One thing that’s really important at Driving While Indigenous is having our vendors INSIDE the room.

The venues always offer a separate room or hallway space to house them, but we want them inside the room. We want them to hear the stories too! These are artists. Dreamers. Creators. Small business owners. People taking a chance on themselves and putting their work out into the world.

Not enough people talk about how hard it is to chase your passion. To create something. To keep showing up when sales are slow and gas is expensive.

Our vendors deserve more than being treated like a second class citizens at trade shows where they’re charged outrageous booth fees. We need to support our local Indigenous vendors more. Period.

This beautiful reflection from one of our vendors is exactly what Driving While Indigenous was created for: people uplifting one another through stories, talent, passion, and purpose.

Nicole Kazonie reflects on the Driving While Indigenous Gala at River Cree — a powerful day of Indigenous speakers, sacred art, and deep personal recalibration.

Looking forward to spending the day with like minded individuals, uplifting and motivating one another while engaging in meaningful conversations around mental health and overcoming barriers and challenges. Canada, see you all soon! www.cwiamicaniwill.com
