A big week ahead with our art exhibition opening on Saturday of ‘Where We Walk’ by Eleanor Davies.

Eleanor Davies is a visual artist with a passion for printmaking. It is an incredibly dynamic process with multiple dynamic forces; the intense pressure of the press, the delicacy of the materials she uses and the fine strength in the paper. When it’s done it’s done. A culmination of ideas, the print captures a moment in time, a moment of her intentions and feelings, a moment from the environment.

‘The country it takes hold of our being. We are in this country, and the country is in us.’

Eleanor Davies has been a practising visual artist since completing her Diploma of Visual Arts at Margaret River Tafe in 2023.

Congratulations to Alan Fyfe on winning the WA Premier’s Award for Poetry AND Book of the Year!

We had a soft launch in May last year for Alan Fyfe’s brilliant poetry book ‘G-D, Sleep And Chaos’ during and we are honoured to have been a tiny part of the journey.

Thanks for selecting my poem ‘earth’s tiny pieces’ for the big screen at Perth Poetry Festival, I wish I could have been there tonight at the event to watch the big screen light up & read all the beautiful poems & meet all the poets, would have been grand.

Thanks to everyone who has got their Witchy Words tickets, we are getting towards capacity but still a few tickets available.

One of our guests will be James from Freedom Through Education talking about his work with kids in Nepal & the fundraiser on Friday 29 August.

You can see this incredibly beautiful Green Tara print that will be auctioned at the event, now in The Marritree.

Tickets for the fundraising concert are available & at the door $30. All money raised goes to the kids, thanks Monty Cash & friends for this great night.

Absolute pleasure to hang out with these talented poets from the big smoke today after a wonderful event last night for Perth Poetry Festival Regional Showcase at our Margaret River Library.

Poetry is a potent art form. There is so much to be gained when we listen to human experiences through the power of poetry.
