Welcoming a new artist, Rosina Wonglorz,to The Marritree 🍃

Rosina Wonglorz is an Australian-German artist based in Margaret River, West Australia.

As a graduate of Visual Arts at Curtin University, her creative path has included teaching children’s art classes and running a beachside café with exhibition space in South Fremantle showcasing local artists.

Since moving to the South West in 2025, Rosina has focused on developing her own art practice.

Her work is shaped by a fascination with the natural world, exploring Australian flora and fauna alongside imagined landscapes inspired by travel.

‘My work explores here and there. Here, the greens and greys and sun bleached yellows of the landscape in West Australia. And there, the shapes and colours remembered from travels to Indonesia and Brazil. I work primarily with acrylic, charcoal and crayons on wood and canvas combining painting with elements of drawing. Through colour, pattern and expressive mark-making, I invite the viewer into familiar and unfamiliar places.’

Our Bernice!
Witchcliffe Author Bernice Barry won a major literary prize last night in Sydney and we couldn’t be more excited for her!

Congratulations Bernice from everyone here in Witchy 🥂💫🧙‍♀️

Bernice Barry felt different growing up. She gifted that difficult experience to the protagonist of her book, The Names of a Hare, which just won the ARA Historical Novel Prize.
