Wouldn't it be loverly to spend an evening celebrating My Fair Lady at the Sydney Opera House? 🌹🎶

We had the privilege of creating a tablescape worthy of a standing ovation for this intimate soirée. Bunches of red blooms, bold stripes, vintage lamps, and a touch of theatrical magic made for a gala worthy of its luxurious venue.

Sophisticated, striking, and just a little unconventional, much like Ms Doolittle herself. Just the way we like it!

A well-considered plan makes for seamless ex*****on 🕯️

For this awards night, the brief was elegant simplicity. We wanted every guest to feel like part of the action, with clear sightlines to the stage, room on the table for plenty of refreshments, and nothing distracting from the moments that mattered most. Less is more!

Some people fit into the team so naturally, it feels like they've always been here. Meet Chanais! 💛

Many of you may already recognise her as one of our trusted casual Operations team members, supporting countless events behind the scenes over the last few months. We're thrilled that she's officially made the move to a full-time role as our Creative Operations Coordinator!

After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) from Loughborough University in the UK, Chanais spent three months volunteering in Sri Lanka, to coordinate community, education, and conservation initiatives. She then took her unique blend of architecture and event experience to Australia, where she joined our ops team.

She's passionate about understanding how people interact with spaces and how thoughtful design can bring people together, create connection and turn moments into lasting memories.

When she's not helping bring our events to life, you'll find her chasing sunsets, painting, cooking with friends, listening to live music, or stopping to take a photo of just about anything nature-related 🌿

We're so excited to have Chanais officially join the team and can't wait to see where her creativity, enthusiasm and eye for great design take her next.

Draping is IN and we are all for it 😍

Whether it's heavy velvet curtains or billowy organza, dramatic draping is delighting event-goers everywhere.

We used a strategic mix of contrasting textures and colours to create this impactful archway that welcomed guests to the Fabrics of Meshki awards night. The height and framing made for an interesting photo op that didn't detract from the main stars: the guests!

It didn't stop at the installations. We brought draping into the tablescapes too, using flowing fabrics as a nod to Meshki's world of beautifully designed pieces. The result was a layered, cohesive look that tied the whole event together.

Behind every "OMG, I need a photo there" moment is a busy team of creatives brainstorming how to turn the inspo into reality 🍏📸

We love to DIY where we can but when you have a very specific vision and a tight timeline, we know when to delegate.

Enter Simon and the team at SODA, who helped transform an ambitious idea into a custom-built feature wall for Viking Cruisies, the major sponsor of the Travel Managers Australia conference in Lutruwita | Tasmania. It was a pleasure to work alongside Cornerstone Events to deliver this event.

We initially wanted to include apples to make the logo, but the thinness and intricacy of the design were proving to be tricky. SODA solved the problem with a custom acrylic cut and installation over the apple base, which we think contrasted the fresh green apples even more strikingly.

To wrap it all up, these apples didn't go to waste! The apples were taken to a community south of Hobart and offered to locals free of charge. We're sure they were enjoyed fresh, baked into lovely desserts or made into yummy sauces. It's all part of our mission to make our industry more sustainable.

We love that events let us dream up something a little unexpected and then work with talented collaborators to make it happen. How you like them apples? 🍏
