Meet Gabbie 💜

We’re incredibly honoured to welcome Gabbie as a keynote speaker for the Curated Gala Night for a Cause during DonateLife Week 2026. 💖

At just 14 years old, Gabbie was diagnosed with Lupus, later developing kidney involvement at 16. What followed were years of hospital stays, multiple comas, open heart surgery, dialysis and more medical challenges than most people could ever imagine.

But through it all, she never lost her humour, her strength or the people around her who carried her through the hardest moments.

Then in 2022, after going into kidney failure, Gabbie received a life changing kidney transplant thanks to the incredible generosity of her living donor, her mum. 🥹💜

As Gabbie says, organ donation turned “just surviving” into truly living again.

During the gala, Gabbie will share her personal journey to help raise awareness, spark important conversations and encourage more Canberrans to register as organ and tissue donors.

radios host and MC for the evening, will join Gabbie on stage for an honest and heartfelt conversation about resilience, hope and the life changing impact of organ donation.

As an official DonateLife Community Partner, Curated is excited to announce we will be hosting a Curated Gala Night for a Cause during DonateLife Week 2026! 💜

On Saturday 1 August 2026, the National Ballroom at Hotel Realm will come to life for an unforgettable evening of impact, connection and community bringing together business leaders, media personalities, charities, changemakers and the wider Canberra community for a night dedicated to saving lives, creating impact and giving back.

At a time where so many people are craving genuine connection, this event is about the power of people coming together in real life not just to connect, but to do good, support important causes and create impact that extends far beyond a single event.

The evening will raise awareness for the life-saving importance of organ and tissue donation through powerful storytelling, lived experience speakers and a special “10 Minutes of Power” activation encouraging guests to register as organ and tissue donors during DonateLife Week.

Hosted by ABC Canberra Radio's James Findlay, the gala will feature a three course dinner, four hour drinks package, entertainment by GJ DJ (Georgie Jones), keynote speakers, silent auction and raffle prizes.

We’re also honoured to welcome basketball pioneer, mentor and NBL Hall of Famer Calvin Bruton OAM, whose lifelong work through the Bruton Basketball Foundation BBF continues to change lives across Australia through youth mentorship, leadership and community connection. Proceeds raised through the evening’s raffle and silent auction will directly support the Bruton Basketball Foundation’s ongoing initiatives.

And in true Curated style, the evening will also feature Curated Tables for guests attending solo or wanting to meet new people throughout the night because no one should feel out of place for coming alone. 💜

Curated turns 1!! What a year! 🥹

Honestly… I still can’t believe this all started from just an idea in my head. A simple thought of surely there has to be a better way for people to connect here.

And now look what we’ve built together 💜

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who has supported Curated, bought a ticket, shared a post, brought a friend or came along to an event alone not knowing what to expect. None of this would exist without you all.

The most special part for me has been getting messages from people before saying “I’m so nervous to come”, “I’m shy”, “I don’t know what to expect”, then just moments into the event they are connecting, laughing and making friends 🥹 And then seeing these same people come back event after event together is truly the best!!

What started as singles events has grown into such a beautiful community where everyone is now welcome and Canberra genuinely feels that little bit more connected because of it.

Winning Social Impact of the Year last year was honestly surreal and I hope Curated has had some impact on your life however that may be! We have been awarded a government grant to partner with to bring our community together to do good, raising awareness for organ and tissue donation and help save lives feels so incredibly special 💖 More details to come on this soon!

Meet Michael!

Back again as MC & host on board our Boat Party this Saturday!🥂⚓️

Michael was there helping host Curated’s very first launch event and we’re excited to have him back on the mic again this weekend!

A retired Navy veteran, public speaker, mental fitness advocate and karaoke champion, Michael brings the kind of warm, welcoming energy that instantly makes people feel comfortable. He’ll be there from the pre-drinks helping welcome everyone, getting conversations flowing and making sure nobody feels awkward walking in alone.

Fun fact: Michael is ridiculously strong!!

BENCH: 192.5kg
DEADLIFT: 262.5kg

Almost 300kg deadlift territory… yet somehow one of the gentlest humans you’ll meet 💪🤍
