The 12th Cairns Japan Bon Dance Festival 2026
(Part 2 - Saturday 15th August 2026) 🌸🌸🎎🎏🎆

More amazingly epic moments from the community joined in the various cultural dance pieces to stage performances to the various cultural food vendor groups who came along to provide the community with amazingly delicious food and cold drinks.

My afternoon food of choices is as follows;

Hot food - Karage Chicken Skewers 🍢🍗

Cold beverage - Iced Strawberry Matcha 🧋🧊

Desserts - S'mores Double Chocolate Cookie 🍪
- Pink Iced Cake in a tin 🧁🥡

Overall experience the whole event was fantastic, and I am looking forward to next year 2027 🎭🎉🌸🎎🎏🇯🇵

The 12th Cairns Japan Bon Dance Festival 2026
(Part 1) 🎭🎉🎏🎎🎆

Saturday, August 15th, 2026, came alive at Fogarty Park Cairns Esplanade, where the Japanese community showcased yet another impressive cultural experience and this year was extra special as an amazing Japanese performance piece was performed by a very talented team from all the way from Japan.

It was not only entertaining but breathtaking to watch, but I found myself joining in when the crowd was encouraged to jump right in and have a go ( was in the moment and therefore there's no videos lol 😀 😄)

Many years back I had this type of experience with my daughter and her friends and I walked out of the cafe and the next time it happened I pulled out my phone and "mirrored their behaviour" until one day during a conversation (while I was on my phone not looking up) I straight up forward my thoughts and how uncomfortable it made me feel etc
Now phones are faced down on the table during meals or 'flight mode' all together and connecting through talk is way more satisfying talking and connecting with someone in person then virtually.

(Part 2 ) La Festa Food & W**e 🍷 🍝🍕🌍🇮🇹🎉🛵
Italian Festival 2026 (25/07/2026)



My favourite part of the night at this awesomely put together event was:

1) Sampling some of my favourite Italian foods that were permeating from the various food vendors, the desserts 🍨 (Sicilian fried cheese combo food balls) (chocolate and orange gelato)

2) The amazing Italian foodie and wine/cold beverage stalls, i.e., smoked and cured Italian sausages(Salame), various cheeses (Formagg) , and Italian style drinks (fizzy sodas - Babita /Limonata & Aranciata, water- Acqua gasata, juices - il succo/ Sanpellegrino brand)

3) The very entertainment performance on the stage by the amazing trio 😍 🙌 ❤️ 🌍🇮🇹🎉

Even though I came to the party late 😆 overall, the La Festa Food & W**e - Italian Festival 2026 has been one outta my favourite event all year.

Can't wait for 2027!
