Event 📅: 70th Birthday - milestone birthday 🎂

Beautiful oceanic themed birthday party 🎈 🎊 🥳 the birthday girl who turned 70 yo, was surrounded by her many extended family members from all over the Torres Strait Islands 🏝 and within the Cairns community.

Loved working at such a joyous and monumental milestone birthday event, plus it was wonderful catching up with people who I hadn't seen in years.

Event 📅 - Ronald McDonald House Charity Gala Dinner

Theme: "Come Fly with me." 🧑‍✈️👩‍✈️🧳🗺🛫

It's been a long time since I've got to work at a Charity Gala Dinner, and I loved every minute of this year's well put-together event.

The Charity organiser's and their beautiful team turned the Brother's Leagues Club Cairns Auditorium into a beautiful Blue & White Aesthetic decor homages to the PAN AM airline era and even down to the amazing team dressed as Flight Cabin Crew and Pilots.

The canapes were beautiful to the eyes but also divine in taste as was complimented by various guests attending the Charity event.

The dinner service was impressive with an alternative selection drop placements of:

1) Charred Waygu Beef tenderloin accompanied with Parsnip puree and Braised Chickory jumbo Asparagus with a port w**e jus.

2) Seared Barramundi, with a potato wheel accompanied with a rolled stuffed savoy cabbage containing cauliflower mousse and prawn finished with a saffron sauce

3) Vegetarian & GF option - Baked Polenta cake layered in levels of wild mushrooms ragout, wilted spinach with a capsicum coulis.

The desserts were to die for:

1) Nutella cheesecake drizzled with Chocolate sauce accompanied with chocolate crumbed soil and topped with a scoop of caramel gelato

2) Raspberry & Pistachio extremet with a mixed berries coulis, vanilla crumbed soil, topped a scoop of vanilla gelato

3) Vegetarian & GF option - Orange & Almond Cake with Rose Buttercream with a GF crumbed soil and topped with a scoop of vanilla gelato.

Epic night, loads of fun, and it was an entertaining event to work at.

PNG INDEPENDENCE DAY 2026 - FAMILY DAY 27/09/26. 🇵🇬👨‍👩‍👦🍛🛍🏝🐚🪮🎭🥰

*The Official PNG Independence Day is September 16th September 1975*

What an exceptional afternoon it was for me and my family to go along and watch and catch up with friends and colleagues from other workplaces I hadn't seen for a while.

PNG celebrations, aka Sing Sing, hold a special place in my heart and see the people from Manus Island (from where my birth mother is from) and other PNG provinces eg Highlands, West Papua New Guinea etc congregated in one big community space was overwhelmingly extra special.

Showcasing traditional dances from Manus Island was impressive, and not to mention, the traditional dances from the Hoskin province from the New Britain area was extra special.

There were various food vendors selling Kai Kai, cold drinks, clothing, and even childhood snacks 😋 of which I think my granbubs and my daughter got excited about more about the snacks, then I did 😆 🤣

Great weekend event 🙌 👌

September events that were entertaining to watch and everyone was thoroughly enjoying 😉
