There’s something so special about getting married beneath a beautiful tree.

With its branches reaching out above you, a tree can symbolise strength, growth and the life you’re building together. Its roots remind us of the foundations of a relationship, while its ever-changing seasons reflect the many chapters a marriage will share.

And then there’s the simple beauty of standing beneath something that has been growing for years, surrounded by nature, family and the people who matter most.

Whether it’s a grand old fig tree, a shady rainforest canopy or a favourite tree in your own backyard, there’s something beautiful about saying “I do” in a place that feels connected to the earth and to the future you’re creating together.

Your day, your way. Your love, your story.

What will you be announced as on your special day?

Husband and wife?
Mr & Mr?
Mrs & Mrs?
The happy husbands?
The newlyweds?
The married couple?
The happy couple?
The spouses?
Partners for life?
Married at last?

Or perhaps something completely your own?

There’s no one right way to announce a newly married couple. Some love the traditional wording, some choose something personal, and others just want to hear their names followed by the words “you’re married!”

Whatever you choose, it should feel like you.

So, what would you love to hear announced at your wedding?

Your day, your way.

Today’s couple chose one of their favourite dinner spots for us to meet, The Bungalow Hotel.

And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it’s looking! It has such a great feel to it and was the perfect spot for us to sit down, chat all things wedding and get to know each other a little better.

I love meeting couples in places that mean something to them. It makes those first wedding conversations feel that little bit more personal.

I’m looking forward to seeing where their wedding journey takes them and, of course, helping bring their day together their way. ❤️

Sometimes nature has a way of joining the ceremony too. 🦋

A beautiful Cairns Birdwing butterfly making a very special appearance during a ceremony felt like a little blessing from the tropics.

With those incredible wings fluttering nearby, it was one of those unexpected moments that makes a ceremony even more memorable.

Cairns really does have a way of adding a little magic to your day. 🌿🦋

Today’s location scouting took us to a view of beautiful Snapper Island.

And apparently I have been staring at too many maps lately because all I could see was a crocodile! 😂

Seriously though… look at the shape of it!

Once you see the crocodile profile, you can’t unsee it. 🐊

I’m pretty sure whoever named it Snapper Island was either very creative… or just really hungry! 😂

Either way, it’s a pretty spectacular little island and another gorgeous spot to explore on our River to the Sea adventures.

Today’s venue spotlight: Little Cove, Port Douglas 🤍

There’s something incredibly special about Little Cove.

Tucked away beside Rex Smeal Park, this beautiful little ceremony spot feels intimate and private, while giving you those quintessential Far North Queensland views. Lush green lawn, swaying palms, the Coral Sea, boats passing by and the mountains creating the most beautiful backdrop.

It really is one of those places where you don’t need to add much. Nature has already done the decorating.

Perfect for an intimate Port Douglas wedding or elopement, Little Cove is one of my favourite places to stand beside a couple and watch them say “I do”.

And after the ceremony? Port Douglas is right there waiting for you, with beautiful photo opportunities, restaurants, accommodation and the Sugar Wharf all within easy reach.

If you’re dreaming of a tropical North Queensland wedding with a view, Little Cove deserves a place on your list.

🎶 TOP WEDDING AISLE SONGS FOR 2026 🎶

Choosing the song you walk down the aisle to can be one of those little decisions that suddenly makes everything feel real.

That first note plays. Your guests turn around. Your partner sees you for the first time. And for a moment, the whole world seems to disappear.

Here are some of the most beautiful aisle song choices for 2026:

🎶 “Can’t Help Falling in Love” — Elvis Presley
🎶 “A Thousand Years” — Christina Perri
🎶 “All of Me” — John Legend
🎶 “Perfect” — Ed Sheeran
🎶 “You Are the Reason” — Calum Scott
🎶 “Young and Beautiful” — Lana Del Rey
🎶 “Enchanted” — Taylor Swift
🎶 “Turning Page” — Sleeping At Last
🎶 “Lover” — Taylor Swift
🎶 “Golden Hour” — JVKE
🎶 “Die With a Smile” — Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars
🎶 “Beautiful Things” — Benson Boone

And of course…

✨ “Canon in D” — Pachelbel

Because some songs never go out of style.

Whether you choose something timeless, romantic, modern or completely unexpected, your aisle song should feel like you.

And my favourite part?

There is nothing quite like watching a groom hear those first few notes and suddenly realise, she’s coming.

💍 What song would you choose to walk down the aisle to?

A little hidden gem, with the ocean on one side and the river on the other. 🌊

A magical little spot, tucked away close to home, but even more special because this beautiful couple already have a connection to it.

Today we were out scouting, imagining what their wedding ceremony could look like here, and I have to say, I can already picture something pretty special.

But the big question is… which location will they choose? ❤️

There is something so lovely about finding a ceremony location that isn’t just beautiful, but actually means something to you as a couple.

I wonder where they’ll say “I do”…
