I have a feeling I will be talking about this wedding for a long time.

Maybe it was the energy. Maybe it was the people. Maybe it was the fact that every time I turned around something meaningful was happening. Maybe it was Alejandra choosing to wear her mother’s wedding shoes.

I think bridal sessions are one of the most underrated parts of the wedding experience.

People often think of them as a test run for hair and makeup, but after photographing weddings for over a decade, I think they serve a much bigger purpose. It’s usually the first time a bride gets to slow down and fully see herself in this season of life.

No timeline. No guests waiting. No pressure. Just space to settle into it all.

By the time the wedding day arrives, she’s no longer wondering what it will feel like to wear the dress or step in front of the camera. She’s already done it once, and that confidence changes everything.

I remember leaving this engagement session thinking, Their wedding is going to be so fun and sweet 🫶🏻

Lakin and Bobby have spent years growing up together, and there’s something really special about watching two people who have shared so much life finally arrive at this moment.

Fast forward, and somehow it’s already wedding week.

I’m sitting here looking back through these photos, thinking about how excited they were for what was ahead and realizing that “ahead” is now✨

Before the chuppah, before the speeches at The Mayo, before the dance floor and the breaking of the glass, there was this.

Watching Alejandra’s little brother stand up and sing “Lady in Red” was the kind of moment nobody planned and everyone will remember.

Family traveled from around the world to celebrate this wedding weekend, filling the Summit Club with stories, traditions, and the kind of anticipation that only exists the night before a wedding. Even the food told part of the story.

This wasn’t just a rehearsal dinner.

It was the beginning of one unforgettable weekend.

And yesterday, these two were married at The Mayo Hotel in one of the most beautiful celebrations I’ve witnessed this year.

What is something you’ve learned that took you far too long to understand?

That chasing perfection can steal the joy from something beautiful. Especially in photography.

What do you think people get wrong about success?

Many people think success is money, recognition, or impressive brands. The older I get, the more I think success looks like peace, freedom, and genuine joy.

What has motherhood taught you?

That time moves far too quickly. I don’t take enough photos of myself or my life. Working on changing that.

What still feels like magic to you?

Watching a bride see herself in her wedding dress for the first time. And hearing my son call me mama.

What are you becoming more certain of as you get older?

That being present is the secret sauce. To business. To love. To motherhood. To life.
