Frames from a family-focused Austin wedding.

Annie and Patrick wanted a wedding film that made room for the in-between. Real life. The way it actually feels when you blend a family, host nearly a hundred kids, and build a day that looks more like a gathering than a party.

These are all the moments of a wedding day. The ones we expect to see, and the ones that often pass quietly alongside them. Together, they hold the full shape of the day.

1. A ceremony at home
2. Dancing shadows
3. A clear-top tent in the middle of Pease Park... the Austin skyline rising just beyond
4. A first dance in a crowded room, noticing only each other
5. A daughter watching from above, transformed into Glinda the Good

9. Not a quiet space, but a quiet moment

This is what it looks like when a wedding centers on family, not just as an idea, but in practice. When a thoughtfully designed event allows play, chaos, and tenderness to exist in the same frame.

These are silent snippets, but the full film will carry sound, voices, and their everyday life beyond the wedding itself. That’s where this story really lives, and we can’t wait to shape it.

2012.

The first time we shot 16mm film, and I was hooked.

These are small snippets from a fall shoot with Jess and JP ahead of their spring 2013 wedding. They wanted to write personal vows, but saying them in front of a full room felt like a lot. So we landed on a plan: a love story film that would play at their reception.

The only rule?
They didn’t want to hear each other’s vows until they watched the film together on their wedding day.

We’d just bought our Scoopic, and they agreed to be our guinea pigs. We filmed around Tulsa, with their vows recorded separately.

Getting this film back felt like Christmas morning. Some things never lose their magic.

Sydney Elizabeth and John—your joy is contagious.
