Pima County, our dogs need help. Today. 🆘

We have 518 dogs in our shelter this morning.

We have three kennels open this morning for incoming dogs. On average, we see about 40 dogs come into the shelter a day.

We absolutely need your help and must find adoptive and foster homes for dogs of all ages, shapes, and sizes. 518 is way, way full for us - and with the 4th of July right around the corner, when we'll see 250-300 dogs come into the shelter as a result of the fireworks, we are deeply concerned.

How you can help:

💙 ADOPT. All dogs and puppies are currently FREE to adopt! All pets adopted from PACC are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.
💙 FOSTER. If you can't adopt a dog, can you foster, even just for two weeks to give a pup a break from the shelter? PACC provides all medical care for fosters and can provide supplies based on what we have available. The majority of dogs who go home for a short-term foster quickly find adopters while in foster or shortly after returning to the shelter. It can be a literal life-changer for them!
💙 HELP PETS GET HOME without bringing them straight to the shelter. If you lose or find a healthy, friendly lost pet, please file a report at lost.petcolove.org, which uses image recognition technology to reunite them. Using this tool, flyers, and social media are all proven to be more successful at getting the dog home than bringing them to the shelter is. While it may take a little extra work, it will also help save lives and keep families together. (Plus: saves you the drive to PACC.)
💙 If your pet is at PACC, please come down to reclaim them ASAP. Reclaim fees are waived in most cases.
💙 Share the word.

We're open today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To put it simply: We and they need you.

PACC is in 🚨URGENT🚨 need of adopters and fosters for both cats and dogs. With puppy and kitten season being in full swing at the same time that many folks leave town and are unable to foster or adopt, our admissions lobby has been busier than our adoption or foster departments for much of this week.

Today, we have more than 500 dogs in our shelter - and with the 4th of July right around the corner, we absolutely MUST decrease this number, as we are already more than 60 dogs PAST CAPACITY and expect to see hundreds of dogs come in in just a few days.

If you can foster or adopt today, you can help save lives. If you can ADOPT, today's a great day, as ALL PETS - cats, kittens, dogs, puppies - are FREE to adopt TODAY ONLY! If you're not ready to adopt or want to test the waters and you choose to foster, medical care is covered by our clinic, and we can provide supplies based on what we have on hand. Fostering a pet in need for even two weeks can change and save lives at this time.

Finally, you CAN help even if you can't take on a new pet. Help us spread the word, tell everyone you know that PACC pets need a helping paw. Take a pup on an overnight or Pawjama Party. Sign up to volunteer. We need our community's help to create the best outcomes for all of these pets.

A tribute to the music of Boston is not easily accomplished. Not if you want to do it justice. What you need are talented, dedicated, professional musicians who love the music, and pay attention to details, of which there are many. Close enough doesn't cut it. The goal is not to pass off some half baked version because, "no one knows the difference." That's not possible with Boston's music. The goal of Rock N Roll Band is to be good enough to play for the man himself, and the legion of fans who expect nothing less than top notch sound and performance. Rock N Roll Band was formed with all this in mind: the music, the show, the legacy, and the respect for Tom Scholz, Brad Delp and the many fine musicians who have graced the stage to support them. One of two fledgling Hawks that were hatched at La Mariposa. This one is doing very well. The other one was taken to the Wildlife Rescue Center. Our resident Hawks average two chicks a year!
