❗️🎶Entertainer Spotlight🗣️🎵

Brian fell in love with the handpan while living on an environmental ranching project in Western Kansas. For two and a half years, he called a yurt home, working on sustainability efforts by day and teaching himself to play the handpan by night. The instrument’s meditative rhythms, echoing the quiet beauty of the prairie, quickly became a source of peace and connection—for both Brian and those who heard him play.

His path has woven between environmental science and social work for over a decade—two fields grounded in care, community, and connection. Today, Brian coordinates the 988 crisis call room for most of Kansas, helping support mental health statewide while continuing to nourish his own through music.
You’ll often find him busking in downtown Lawrence, not for attention, but to bring moments of calm and joy to the people passing by. Whether it’s a stranger stopping to listen or a child dancing to the rhythm, it’s those quiet, human moments that keep him playing.

🧚🏼‍♀️🪬 Vendor Spotlight: Metaphysical Sigils 🪷🐍

Brooke Metz is henna artist of 5 years who has worked at various fairs in the Midwest and East coast, at multiple fantasy and magical events and was an artista renaissance festival in KS. She was trained by Priya Modi in New York and continues to honor the traditional art of henna, combined with a metaphysical take, specializing in sigils and offering custom designs for those who have their own idea in mind. She is a freestyle henna artist who has been drawing and making art since she was a child.

-Schedule and conduct event walkthroughs
-Provide an exceptional client experience and build strong relationships.
-Plan and communicate event details to staff in advance.
-Schedule booked events in CRM and follow up on unpaid invoices.
-Reach out to clients the week of their event for final details.

Requirements:

-Personable, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
-Strong desire to build lasting client relationships.
-Reliable transportation.
-Estimated availability for 10-15 hours per week.
