It was a great send off for Susan Ives today following a 32 year stint as a director of our chorus. She was Queen for a Day at a retirement reception and treated to gifts, accolades and a This Is Your Life video. The reception concluded with her former chorus members singing “Thank You for Being a Friend”, followed by cookies and punch served by the TAU social committee. Happy Next Chapter, Susan!

We have spent our summer doing singouts at area churches. Four down, one to go on Aug 18 at Wakarusa Presbyterian. This morning we sang at Topeka Bible Church to the Koininia Sunday School class, then went to Cornerstone Church. We are so grateful for our gift of singing that we get to share and for our appreciative audiences. Thanks to Kate Lagle for this photo from this morning’s singout at Cornerstone.

New TAU officers were installed in April at our annual meeting and dinner. We're looking forward to the leadership of President Cindy Patton, board members Alyse Stewart and Anne Spry, Corresponding Secretary Terry Davis, Recording Secretary Florence Deeter. Not pictured: LeeAnn Skinner, treasurer, and Nyla Suffron, vice-president. We continue under the wonderful direction of Susan Ives as we prepare for another trip across the International stage this fall with the Kansas City Chorus.

We are grateful for our wonderful directors, Michelle and Susan, for keeping us motivated and on track with our music! We're looking forward to lots of coaching and hard work on our way to our second Sweet Adelines International competition this fall!

We'd also like to give a special shout-out to all the quartets and choruses crossing the BHS International stage in Louisville this week from the Central States District - hope you're all preparing the town and scouting out the best places for us to visit in October!
