🎃 OCTOBER TRIVIA CHALLENGE IS HERE! 🎃
Get ready for a massive month of trivia action at Primal'Cue in Sun Prairie. We are tracking cumulative standings across all 4 Wednesdays in October (Oct 7, Oct 14, Oct 21, Oct 28).
As always, your baseline points come from your nightly placements: 1st place earns 3 Challenge Points (CP), 2nd place earns 2 CP, and 3rd place walks away with 1 CP.
But that's just the beginning! You can stack massive bonus points every single week by participating in our themed nights. Pin this post and keep your ultimate cheat sheet handy for the month:
Week 1: Oct 7 — Flannel Fall Kick-Off
▢ The "Lumberjack" Attire Bonus: Any player wearing flannel or plaid earns +2 CP for their team. If the entire team wears flannel during Round 1, award +5 CP bonus.
▢ Social Media Comfort Food Check-In: Comment on the weekly Facebook announcement post (Weekly announcement, not this post) with your favorite fall seasonal b**r or go-to comfort food. You will be rewarded with +3 CP at check-in when verified. (It's the perfect excuse to order the Wednesday tri-tip special while you play!)
Week 2: Oct 14 — The Great Gourd Weigh-Off
▢ "Orange You Glad" Attire Bonus: Any player wearing bright pumpkin orange earns +2 CP for their team. If the entire team coordinates in orange, award +5 CP bonus.
▢ The Host Table Gourd Guessing Game: I'm bringing lumpy decorative gourd or squash to the host table. Teams can inspect it and submit their best weight guess (in pounds and ounces) on their Round 2, Question 1 answer slip. The team closest to the actual weight without going over earns +3 CP.
▢ The "Jack-o'-Lantern" Slip: Teams draw a hand-drawn carved pumpkin/Jack-o'-lantern face on their Round 1, Question 1 answer slip. You earn +1 CP for participation.
Week 3: Oct 21 — Monsters & Cryptids
▢ Creature Feature / Horror Attire Bonus: Wear a classic horror movie tee, ghost/skeleton apparel, or cryptid merchandise (Bigfoot, Mothman, Loveland Frogman, etc.). This earns +2 CP per team with qualifying attire.
▢ "Monster Mash" DJ Request: Comment on the Facebook promo post with a favorite spooky or Halloween-themed track (e.g., "Monster Mash," "Thriller," "Ghostbusters"). You get +3 CP per team upon check-in; requests added to the halftime and break playlists.
▢ Halftime "Trick or Treat" Wager: Teams opt into a special Halftime bonus question by marking either "Trick" or "Treat". Treat is a standard-difficulty trivia question worth +3 CP if correct, 0 if wrong. Trick is a high-difficulty brain teaser worth +5 CP if correct, but -2 CP if missed.
Week 4: Oct 28 — Halloween Costume Blowout & CHAOS
▢ Costume Showdown: Any player attending in full Halloween costume earns +3 CP. If the entire table participates in a coordinated group/theme costume (e.g., Addams Family, Scooby-Doo gang, sports team), award +10 CP.
▢ Spooky Team Name Rebrand: Teams rebrand their regular squad name into a horror, Halloween, or spooky pun (e.g., Sugar & Spook, Big Witch Sticks, Dead Answers Only). Earn +2 CP for creative rebrands submitted on the Round 1 slip.
▢ The Tombstone Epitaph: Write a 1-sentence comedic "team epitaph" or tombstone inscription on the Final Question slip. You get +1 CP for all submissions; best epitaphs read aloud during final scoring.
🚨 BEWARE: The final week always features CHAOS RULES, where everything can completely flip on its head! No lead is safe!Games kick off at 6:30 PM.
