May is mental health awareness month
It’s also, ironically, the busiest month in flower world AND end-of-school-year world, dance recital world, everything all in one month.
so for me, it has meant that I’m not getting as much time to rest, reflect, and restore balance in my own mind and body recently.
But I knew I wanted to take a moment to share my awareness on this topic because I have quite the experience,
and this subject applies to each and every one of us.
Mental health matters for everyone with a brain.
And if you’re someone who’s been labeled “disordered,”
me too.
And not just a little anxious or sad.
The unsexy psych ward stuff.
The whole 9.
It’s actually interesting to be labeled “disordered” by a society that runs on disconnection, endless consumption, emotional suppression, burnout and performance,
calls that “normal,”
and often medicates you right back into surviving the system.*
You were not designed to live like that.
You deserve the time, space, and support necessary to heal
from what hurt you,
and from a culture that continues to add pressure, disconnection, and performance to your plate.
Your story doesn’t end where it hurts,
It’s still unfolding 🦋
*we support medication here btw. Support comes in many forms💊🌱🙏🏼
