CHEERS TO US! Happy 1 Year!
Since opening our doors for our Farm to Table Dinner with Chef Grant Gillon and Catering by Doolittle Farm, we’ve already made so many incredible memories with couples and our community.
We’ve hosted a Daddy Daughter Dance (be on the lookout for our next one in June!), candle workshops, sign workshops, PumpkinFest with The Women of Fredericksburg, Live on the Lawn, Cookies & Cocoa with Santa & Mrs. Claus, along with many private parties and community events.
We’ve also had the honor of being the backdrop for 7 weddings! and 33 more (& counting!) to look forward to!
As a very proud owner, I want to give a special shoutout to our Cottage Crew... the team that makes this business a reality. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure every wedding and event goes off without a hitch. Truly a dream team. Every person who has carried a chair, cleaned a bathroom, welcomed a guest, or helped plan alongside our couples has made an impact.
We’re also so grateful for the vendors who have visited The Cottage and the trade-teams who helped bring this property to life. We have so many more plans for this place… one step at a time!
Once more, Cheers to Year 1! I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Cottage Community - we are getting lots of messages regarding prom photos on-site this weekend. We ARE allowing you stop out and take photos... with a few notes.
1) No photos on the front porch of The Cottage. The porch is needing to be replaced and is not safe for folks to be walking on.
2) No going inside any of the buildings, outside photos only.
Thank you for respecting our venue and space!

COTTAGE COUPLE SPOTLIGHT!
Travis and I met at his hometown's pool in rural Iowa in the summer of 2018. I was a lifeguard there from a nearby town, so I didn't know many people, but a mutual lifeguard introduced us! We became "official" in October of that year. Travis graduated high school a semester early, and began training for the US Army in February of 2019; he was later stationed in Alaska while I finished high school and graduated that May of 2019. We were long distance from February 2019 to April 2022. It was difficult being thousands of miles apart, but we made it work with a handful of visits home and to AK, writing letters, sending packages, and calling or FaceTiming regularly. In August 2024, we moved to Minnesota when he accepted a job as a paramedic with Mayo Clinic Ambulance, finally living together. Fast forward a year and in November of 2025, Travis proposed under the Northern Lights, which I had mentioned I would love being done while we were in Alaska together. It's been a long journey, but I couldn't imagine it with anyone else!
We chose The Cottage because of all the amenities included, along with the very helpful and kind staff. The Cottage was our first venue tour, and right away afterwards, we both said, "I could imagine us getting married there." We toured a few other places to make sure this was the one, and nothing measured up to the uniqueness and support The Cottage and its team offers.
A song that represents our love story would be: Gold by The Dreggs. This song is one of our favorites because it's about all we need is each other, everything else is secondary. It's about how we relish the moment -- living our best lives while we're young with a world of opportunity ahead, and finding gratitude in and embracing the simplicities in what we're building, regardless of materialism.

COTTAGE COUPLE SPOTLIGHT!
Hunter and I became friends while working as lifeguards at UNI. We started walking home to the dorms together every week after our shifts, and enjoyed getting to know each other! We eventually decided to go on our first date and quickly fell in love!
We loved the style and overall vibe of The Cottage! It felt like the perfect fit for us. When we toured, we felt very welcomed and knew it was our dream venue!
"Forever and Ever Amen" by Randy Travis is our song.

COTTAGE COUPLE SPOTLIGHT!
We met like all the kids do these days, online! We met in person a few weeks after connecting online. Since we’ve met we have been inseparable and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We chose The Cottage and Woodland Farms because it’s close to home and family! We loved the environment and that everything can be done in one location!
As for a song, that’s a hard one. Right now our favorite song is Man I Need by Olivia Dean!

COTTAGE COUPLE SPOTLIGHT!
Our story is simple: Malcolm and I met at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. We had lived 15 mins apart before college at neighboring schools, but never met! Then we ended up in the same friend group at Wartburg and the rest was history.
We chose The Cottage because the vibe is exactly what we were looking for—vintage, colorful, and unique. We wanted to have a place where we could celebrate all weekend with our favorite people.
Our song is "A Life Where We Workout" by Flatland Cavalry ❤️

The first 1/2 of our calendar for 2027 ideal dates is almost booked up! We only have 1 weekend left in April and 2 weekends left in June. September and October are starting to fill up. Book your tour with The Cottage soon if you are hopeful to host your wedding with us next year.
