A little reminder about supporting small businesses…

Just because I’m a Black-owned business does not mean my services, time, talent, or products are worth less. I’m always willing to work with clients and their budgets when I can, but there is a difference between working within a budget and expecting a business to cut corners just to meet a price point. If my pricing isn’t within your budget, there is absolutely nothing wrong with shopping around.

There’s often an assumption that Black businesses should be the “cheaper option.” That is not the standard I operate by. I pride myself on professionalism, quality, timeliness, communication, and delivering an experience that my clients can feel good about.

I’m happy to discuss your budget and find solutions that make sense for both of us. However, asking me to shop for the food yourself so that I can simply prepare it is a different conversation. You wouldn’t walk into a restaurant, bring them your own groceries, and expect them to prepare the meal for you. My business operates on the same principle: you’re paying for more than the food—you’re paying for my expertise, labor, preparation, time, equipment, service, and the overall experience.

Catering is A LOT of work. What you see on the table is only the final product. Behind that plate are hours of planning, shopping, prepping, cooking, packaging, transporting, setting up, serving, cleaning, and everything in between.

And yes, I believe in giving back. I volunteer, donate, and do plenty of things for my community—often quietly and behind the scenes. But my business is my business, and I deserve to be compensated fairly for the work I put into it.

I will always appreciate a client who values what I bring to the table. ❤️

Support small. Support Black-owned. But most importantly, respect the value of the work.

If my services aren’t the right fit for your budget, I completely understand. There’s room for everyone in this industry. Just don’t expect me to undervalue my business to make someone else’s budget work.
