On March 4th, the Academy of Friends had their annual Gala where they live screened the 2018 Academy Awards. The theme for this year was "the circus" and intermingled with the illustrious guests on the top floor of the AMC Metreon were contortionists, clowns, unicylcers, and life-sized marionettes. The food wasn't too bad either.

As stated on their website, the purpose of the gala was to "raise funds, award donations, and encourage volunteerism that benefit a diverse set of HIV/AIDS organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area".

The 54th Imperial Coronation took place this past Saturday (2/24/2018). Great performances, fantastic sense of community, and appearances from Imperial Council royalty from all around the world! Hey folks! While Scotty is busy at the Archive working on Non-fictional projects, documentaries, and art/theater film projects, I wanted to introduce film enthusiasts to Elena Altman over at MMTB. She has been leading a group making Movie-in-a-Day projects to better sharpen the skills of both those behind the camera and those infront. If you're itching for a project, you should check them out. Next day is Feb 11th, in Vacaville. These films go on to local festivals for competition as well as national film festivals to get awards. Good stuff! good People! Good filming!!
