What does full-service event production actually look like?

At Building Blackboard Together 2026, our team supported the event from early planning through on-site ex*****on, including creative, registration, housing, sponsors, speakers, food and beverage, production, and show operations.

A lot of that work happens behind the scenes, but the goal is simple: make the experience feel organized, connected, and easy for attendees.

Here’s a look at how the space came together from setup to showtime.

Event creative is a strategy of colors, themes, and creating a cohesive look and feel that makes the attendee experience.

One of the biggest misconceptions in event production is that design is something you layer on at the end, once the logistics are confirmed and the budget is settled. In reality, creative direction is one of the most powerful tools you have for achieving your event goals.

When thoughtful design is integrated from the beginning, it shapes how attendees feel, move, engage, and remember your event. It influences sponsor visibility, brand recognition, attendee flow, and even revenue performance.

We've seen what's possible when creative and operations are fully aligned, including the time Ashley turned Lombard Street into the world's largest Candy Land board game for the 60th anniversary of the classic game. Lombard Street had never been closed to vehicular traffic before that day. The aerial photo circulated globally.

That's what intentional event creative can do.

In our recent blog, we broke down the strategies we use to make creative decisions that connect.

Throwback to Le Marché du Chocolat, and a lesson in what it really takes to build an event that lasts. 🍫

When we produced Le Marché du Chocolat in San Francisco, the goal wasn't just to pull off a great first-year event. It was to build a financial foundation strong enough to grow year over year.

That meant making intentional tradeoffs, choosing a hotel over a specialty venue, consolidating F&B costs, simplifying infrastructure, and leaning on one of the most underrated budget tools in events: time.

Every decision came back to one question: What are we willing to give up in order to stay aligned with our budget and our long-term goals?

Because if an event loses money in year one, it often doesn't get a year two.

Budgeting isn't about limitations; it's about priorities. And when revenue and expenses are aligned from the start, you're not just producing an event; you're building something repeatable and scalable.

We broke down exactly how we approached it on our latest blog. 🔗 www.montgomeryentertainment.net/blog/a-spotlight-on-budgeting-le-marche

Cheap. Fast. Good. Pick two.

It's one of the oldest rules in event production, and one of the most misunderstood. Every client wants all three. We know that's not how it works.

When you can be fast and good, it won't be cheap. When you can be affordable and good, it takes more time and planning. And when fast and cheap are the priority, something in the quality will give.

Understanding this model means making intentional trade-offs instead of reactive compromises. It's the foundation of every smart event budget conversation we have at Montgomery Entertainment.

We wrote the full breakdown on our blog. If you're planning an event in 2026 and want to go in with clear expectations and a strategy that actually works, this one's worth the read.
